2-3 hours is an ideal time for a baby or adoption shower. This gives plenty of time for parents- to - be to talk to all of their guests, open presents and enjoy the food. It is always good to let guests know the end time as well as start time!

We would recommend around the 35 week mark. This is far enough along in the pregnancy but will hopefully avoid any surprise early deliveries. However, its very much personal choice and some mums may opt for a much earlier shower when they can sit comfortably for longer for example. It's WORLD BREASTFEEDING WEEK (1st - 7th August). This is an important one for me. I don't care how you feed your baby but I do care that you were given all the information and support required so you could CHOOSE how to feed your baby. There isn't enough research or support out there which results in many women feeling like they have to 'give up' which is so detrimental to their mental health.
👶🏽I had a tough old start to breastfeeding with Olive and i am forever grateful to my family for the 24/7 support they gave me to make it work. In particular my husband and sister who were my biggest cheerleaders and supporters. Without them i wouldnt have been able to continue.
👶🏽Tongue tie causes such difficulties with breastfeeding, yet in our area it can take weeks to get diagnosed and resolved! Whoever allocates the resources should really try breastfeeding a baby with sore and bleeding ni***es for that long!!

---Virtual baby and adoption shower games----
Hopefully it wont be long until we are back to celebrating face to face. However, for now, here are some suggestions of games you could play during a virtual shower (alongside the ones we sell....obviously :) )
1) 'The price is right' - The host holds up a commonly used item for babies and children and everyone guesses how much it retails for.
2) 'Name that tune' - The host plays some nursery rhymes or songs with 'baby' in and the quickest guest to name the song wins a point.
3) 'alphabet game' - go around each guest at a time naming words related to children or babies following the alphabet.
4) 'who is the baby' - ask guests to send a photo of themselves as a baby beforehand and the host can display these during the shower for everyone to guess.
5) 'Forbidden word' - have one word that is band from the shower and if guests use it they have to recall an embarrassing story about themselves
