Headlining the show will be Canada’s top lady of prog, Amber Long, who made a mess out of this club last year and is ready to tear it up again! All three OPV residents will be on hand to get things started: Boraa, Steve Finney & Alain M.

AMBER LONG
From the bustling streets of Toronto, Amber Long makes waves with her signature sound. Supported by top-tier artists and blessed with a voice that soothes souls near and far, she has charmed audiences across countries such as Australia, the USA, the UK, the Netherlands, Greece, Spain, Qatar, Mexico, Argentina, Jamaica, and throughout her homeland, Canada. She's smashed through the glass ceiling with her music and collaborations, which have been signed to multiple prestigious labels.

Amber's passion for spinning is not limited just there; not only does she travel everywhere but also runs an independent label Modern Agenda - an independent label home to producers who are being championed for their work in Progressive House and Melodic Techno, primarily.

Amber launched the LIA Series in 2021, a series of guest mixes highlighting up-and-coming female and female-representing artists from around the globe. Amber has also been hosting Frisky Radio's Rogue Radio Show since 2017 and has been involved with The Canadian Juno Awards for many years now.

With music coursing through every vein of hers, it's easy to see why Amber believes in its power to heal us all.

ALAIN M.
Alain M. started DJing in his early 20s and over the years has cultivated a signature melodic, danceable, and thoughtful style with enough surprises to keep even the most devout listeners on their toes. In 2019 he started Ottawa Prog Vibes, which has grown into a weekly radio show that has been broadcast on several radio stations, currently Beach Radio (UK), Chill Lover Radio (NY) and Blast the Radio (Ottawa).
Alain M. has appeared as a guest on a number of shows in several countries including the UK, Argentina, Spain, Brazil, Sri Lanka, Peru, Turkey, Israel and the US. In Canada, he has been featured as a guest DJ at several events by Ottawa-based Music.Art.Ppl, on CHUO FM’s Vanguard Pulse Radio, on CKCU FM’s Lost In Bass and Mapped Out Radio, on Montreal’s After Hour radio show and on Toronto’s ION radio show.

Alain has also dipped his toe into production, releasing (in collaboration with Argentina’s Niko Garcia) on Future Avenue Records, Bekool Records and What Happens Recordings, and producing a small number of unofficial and bootleg remixes.

STEVE FINNEY
Steve Finney is a talented DJ who grew up in the UK listening to the classic trance and rave tracks of the 90's. Now based in Ottawa, he loves to listen to and mix a more chilled out and mellow sound using the best of organic and progressive tracks. However, those 90's trance synth and pad sounds still permeate through, with the tribal sounds of the rave era also prevalent.

Steve is a resident DJ with Ottawa Prog Vibes and was curator of the Mellow Prog Vibes series for two years. He was a monthly resident on the Abyss Sound Experience show, on (UK) and is currently a weekly resident on Blast the Radio (Ottawa). Steve is also delving into production.

BORAA
Starting his electronic music career when he was only 17 years old, Boraa fed off the eclectic music scene of Istanbul and incorporated his experience into his productions. Playing in parties across Turkey, including but not limited to major cities like Istanbul, and Izmir, as well as Antalya, Bodrum, and Baku, Boraa also contributed to the development of the electronic scene in Baku, Azerbaijan, where he worked with event organizations and working with big names.

More recently, Boraa supported the first and best music platform in Baku, solong.live, and worked as a lineup coordinator, connecting the big names with the fans. Boraa has also shared the stage and collaborated with names such as Guy J, Tantum, Kasper Koman, Frankey & Sandrino, Alex O’Rion, Martin Roth, and Kadosh.

The first production experience of Boraa dates back to 2015, with more recent releases such as “Mind Field” with Three Records, “Melancholia” with Ah Digital, “Clouds' with BC2 Records, and UV NOIR.

Ottawa Prog Vibes 241 - Nathalie Henriëtte (Amsterdam, Netherlands) - Sat. Jan. 20th

'Home is where the heart is'. A platitude often heard in realms other than music. But when it comes to artists and it indeed hits close to home. Replace Home with Music and Heart with Soul and we can soon see how things fall into place. Nathalie untangles all that into a personal statement: 'I play what I feel, I feel what I play'. When listening to one of her sets, whether it's radio, online, live or on Mixcloud, where she in no time gained top charting every single time, we can hear and feel exactly what she means.

As life happens it's up to the artist how to cope and transform something into an experience that ultimately makes sense. Nathalie is not one to hide from past life hardships and somehow, some way, manages to turn taste and skills into not only a melodic journey but a personal one as well. Not being restricted by set boundaries in today's underground dance music, she has found a unique way to translate all of that into a rather distinctive sound which transcends form, labels and genres.

Since 2023 Nathalie Henriette presents Exultation every 4th Monday of the month on DI.FM, The Progressive Channel. The future for Nathalie Henriette and for those longing for a distinctive yet powerful and unique sound is looking bright indeed.
