07.22.25 Throwback to some portraits on film.

I’ve been shooting a lot more film lately, at weddings, in everyday life, and just for the joy of it. I’ve even started collecting more film cameras for future projects. Honestly, I’m lowkey falling in love with it all over again. There’s something so nostalgic and grounding about it. These images feel timeless because with film, you only get one shot. And once it’s developed, that’s it. Even if the photo isn’t perfect, the memory still is. You remember exactly how it felt.

In a world where short-form video content is everywhere and everyone wants more — more posts, more clips, more everything — I find myself leaning in the opposite direction. Back to quality over quantity. Our minds are imaginative and powerful. Even though photography can’t capture every single moment in between, our hearts still fill in the rest.
-
Maybe it sounds counterintuitive coming from a photographer, but I don’t think every moment needs to be documented. Just enough. Just enough to help our minds weave together the full story of your most meaningful day. That’s the beauty of photography, its stillness, its simplicity, and its ability to hold space for memory.

07.16.25 – My Switch to Fujifilm and 35mm Film
-
Here’s a set of photos shot on 35mm Kodak Portra 400 film, along with some captured on my Fujifilm camera, which emulates the feeling and nostalgia of traditional 35mm film.

If you follow me on my personal page , you’ll know I’ve fully switched my gear over to a brand of cameras called Fujifilm. A lot of people have asked: Why Fuji?
-
Fuji shoots a bit slower than most brands, doesn’t have the best autofocus in the wedding and event market, and lacks full-frame sensors—so the images aren’t always as tack-sharp as those from other systems. So again, why Fuji?
-
It’s to capture moments like these.
-
All of these were shot on film or with my compact Fujifilm camera. They evoke a kind of nostalgia that modern digital cameras just can’t replicate. Fujifilm mirrors the experience of film cameras—not just in image quality, but in the way their sensors and controls work in your hands. While shooting, there’s a calm, intentional vibe that comes through, something that allows me to focus on capturing feelings, not just photos.

And that’s exactly it, I’m not just trying to document what things looked like. I’m trying to capture how it all felt.

Fuji lets me do that in a direct, non-invasive way that big, full-frame professional cameras can’t. People also interact with you differently when you’re not holding an intimidating setup. That’s one of the biggest reasons I made the switch to Fujifilm. So I’ll catch you on the other side with my smaller cameras and along with my film, even though it is more expensive to deal with post production, this is really how I see the world around me.

There’s something magical about seeing a wedding from above. Drones let us experience a perspective we rarely think about, one that lifts us out of the moment and helps us see the bigger picture. I’ve spent time learning how to fly drones, explored FPV a bit, and even started building one myself. A few years ago, I took pilot lessons when I was considering becoming a pilot, and that same feeling of being in the sky, weightless and wide-eyed, comes rushing back every time I send the drone up. That shift in perspective is what made me fall in love with it all.

I never charge extra for drone coverage because I believe that sense of freedom should be shared. It’s a gift, a moment to zoom out and remember how small we are in this vast world, and how lucky we are to be alive and celebrating love.

M&K’s wedding was the perfect setting for that kind of wonder. Tucked between lush palms and dramatic mountains, with the ocean stretching endlessly beyond, it felt like the world paused just for them. There’s nothing quite like dancing under the stars with the sound of the waves nearby. It was the kind of night you carry with you long after it’s over.

A weekend of incredible celebrations with the best of friends and family, honoring Matt & Katie.

It’s always a joy listening to the countless stories shared by friends and family during these destination weekends. We all come from such different backgrounds, yet we’re brought together by the love of two individuals. I’m so grateful for what I get to do, capturing the memories of two families and friend groups coming together to celebrate love, joy, and the beauty of this chance of love.

“Show me your friends, and I’ll show you your future.”
That quote has stuck with me ever since a personal leadership class in college. And after chatting with so many of M & K’s friends over the weekend, I couldn’t help but feel immense pride for the couple. Their love radiates not only between each other but also outwards to their community. It felt like more than just a celebration of their union; it was a gift they gave back to their people, filled with deep gratitude and intention.

Thank you for including me in this story, even if my role was small. I’m always filled with bittersweet emotions when I’m leaving the scene of so much joy and love, whether by plane or car. May the love you share continue to build and strengthen the community around you, now and always. ❤️
