Christopher is one of my earliest proposal clients. He wanted to ask the love of his life to marry him in a way that was also showing her the world. He proposed on a private overlook in the Franklin Mountains at night with the city lights shining back up at them. Caitlin could not have been more excited to say yes to her best friend! How do I avoid this happening as a queer wedding planner? EASY! First I get each vendor to guarantee they fit the criteria to serve my clients. Respect and courtesy are required and frankly, the bare minimum. As your planner I go ahead of you to the vendors and provide your names, pronouns, and marriage titles. This way there are no assumptions made. Your love party is meant to be full of surprises, but not ones that come in the form of misgendering and hateful comments.
