YOU'RE ENGAGED! Now What?

Hi Brides! I know this is not my normal 5 things Friday but I figured lets do something a little different!!

Let's talk about about the 5 things to focus on right after you get engaged!

1.FREAK OUT!!! Sounds silly, but seriously, enjoy the moment, call everyone you know, post that new RING!!
2. Set a Budget
3.Make a guest list! This can change depending on your budget and your venue but just get started so you have an idea of how many people you may invite.
4.Pick a season and a style
5.Venue hunt

Planning a wedding can be stressful regardless of size or budget because there are so many moving parts to keep in mind. Hiring a Coordinator or Planner (Shameless plug) can help lift that stress off of your shoulders!

Lets talk about the 5 things your guests actually care about!!

Lets start with the obvious!
1. DATE, TIME, LOCATION! While holidays seem like a good way to reduce the time you need to take off most of your guests will have planned to take a vacation so keep that in mind!

2. WEATHER! Take this one from me! I got married in late August and wanted nothing more than my ceremony to be in the field! I think everyone was dreading the heat and we ended up moving in under a shelter due to the rain we had the day before so it all worked out!

3. PARKING! Parking should be close, accessible and free or low cost! No one wants to pay $20 for parking and no woman wants to walk a mile in her nice clothes and heels!

4. ENTERTAINMENT! This is were picking the right DJ is critical! Your DJ can keep the time line moving, Keep your guests dancing and having a great time but also keep their attention when it is time to cut the cake or give speeches!

5. The BOOZE and FOOD! This goes without saying, everyone loves good food! Most guests will skip lunch so that they can enjoy the meal at the wedding! While guests do not care if you offer a full top shelf open bar, likely if your dj is doing their job they will want a drink in hand!
