Hari Raya Haji, also known as Eid al-Adha or Aidiladha, is a significant Muslim holiday celebrated in Malaysia and other Muslim-majority countries. It falls on the 10th day of Zulhijjah, the 12th month in the Islamic calendar. On this day, Muslims commemorate the willingness of the prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son, Ishmael (Ismael), as an act of obedience to God. According to Islamic tradition, God ultimately provided a ram to be sacrificed instead. Some families also sacrifice a goat or sheep, sharing the meat with the less fortunate. 🌙🕌🐏

Embracing tradition and history on Gawai Dayak, a celebration of harvest and cultural heritage among the Dayak community in Borneo. Let's honor the past while celebrating the present! 🌾🎉

Gawai Dayak is a festival celebrated by the Dayak people in Sarawak, Malaysia, and West Kalimantan, Indonesia, particularly the Ibans and the Bidayuhs. It marks the end of the rice harvest season and is a time for thanksgiving, feasting, and cultural performances. The festival typically falls on May 31st, but the celebrations often extend throughout the month of June. It's a significant occasion for the Dayak people to showcase their rich cultural heritage through traditional music, dance, and rituals.
