Local Food Market is coming soon - Saturday 31st August!
At East Camp in Balivanich - 11am - 1pm

Pop down and see us we hope to have all our veg and fruit for sale (including potatoes!) but also local eggs, fish, meat, shellfish, pizza and home baking!

It is all happening at East Camp on Saturday ...

Uist Community Riding School will offer pony rides (booking essential) and there will be a Craft & Tabletop market at The Caladh Trust.

Our new refillery service will be on site to stock up on dried goods - herbs, spices, pasta, rice... and George Jackson's Amazing Buckets will be on sale raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Bouncy castle, Teas/ Coffees, Home Baking available too.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas 🎄

I'm delighted to share with you that between the Santa's Grotto & Christmas Market , a whist and online fundraising a whopping £2,179 has been raised for Mary's Meals which is I N C R E D I B L E!! This amount will also be DOUBLED by the charity (through money donated by very kind people) to give a final total of £4,358!!! 🤩🤩🤩

A HUUUUUGE thank you to every single one of you who donated money, bought number squares, took part in the whist, donated prizes and baking and supported all the events!! The amount of money raised by your generosity will make a big difference to the lives of school children living in some of the world's poorest countries by providing them with nutritious school meals!! 🩵🩵🩵

A very special mention to Ann Marie who has been raising money for Mary's Meals for many many years now - your commitment and compassion for the charity is to be admired ♥️ Not forgetting all the other lovely ladies - Kay, Nina and Martina for all their hard work and dedication every year, what a truly remarkable team you are ♥️

🎃 P u m p k i n P a t c h 2 0 2 3 🎃

What an incredible day we had at Uist's first ever pumpkin patch!! So many of you came to join in the fun and make wonderful memories with your families. There was potion making, magical broomsticks, storytelling, pumpkin painting and all 120 pumpkins were preciously picked and taken to their homes 🧡

We have so many people and other Businesses to thank for the part they played in making this event possible!!

Tagsa Uibhist Community Gardens for hosting us at their fantastic food market and to Alex, especially for all the help and support in the lead up to the event. Uist Community Riding School for allowing us to use their wonderful paddock for the patch and for helping us with the Hay bales. MacLennans Supermarket for sourcing all the pumpkins and getting them onto the island!! N.D MacAskill & Son Ltd for all 40 Hay bales delivered to the site. Judith Yoga For Life Hebrides for allowing us to use her Bell tent for the cosy space. Ishy for all the storytelling in the cosy tent. Long Island Retreats for lending their vintage milk churns and wheels for the decor (we loved them)! To our own loved ones, Elsie, Henry, Alex & David, for all their help (muscle power especially for shifting hay bales) with the set up and take down! A big shout out to Nooie, Jade and Olivia for helping us move all the Hay bales at the end too. A huge help, thank you! Finally, a HUGE thank you to all of you who came along on the day for your kind words, messages, and ongoing support 🧡

Our pumpkin patch is now popping up at Tagsa Uibhist Community Gardens food market on Saturday 28th October.

Come along on the day to explore our pumpkin field, take part in Halloween crafts and choose a pumpkin to take home. Be prepared for potion making, pumpkin painting and lots of fun!

This event will be taking place outside so please dress for the weather and wear waterproof shoes!

No booking required but please bring cash if you’d like to take a pumpkin away with you.

Our next market is on Saturday 28th October at East Camp in Balivanich from 11am to 2pm.

Pop down and see us to buy local veg, eggs, fish, meat, home baking, honey, pizzas, jams and more.

In addition Island Dreams and Otter Mountain Uist will have a pumpkin patch and Halloween crafts. Uist Community Riding School will be offering 30 minute Halloween pony rides for £20 (Booking is advisable). Chrissie's Magical Faces will also be there.

Otter Mountain Uist & Island Dreams are collaborating to create a magical Autumnal experience for children on our islands 🍂🌻

Come along to the patch on Monday 30th October, between 10 and 2, to explore the pumpkins and choose one to take home 🎃 Pop along to the craft hub where you can join in with all sorts of Autumnal art 🍂
