Do your eyes hurt from too much screentime?
With everyone under quarantine and pivoting to working from home, there are reported a rise in the average screen time, it's about time that you think about how to keep your eyes protected.
Use the 20-20-20 Rule
To avoid eye strain take rests ideally for every 20 mins spent looking at a screen take 20 secs rest by looking away at something that is at least 20 feet away.
Calibrate Screen Brightness and Contrast
Make sure you calibrate your screen settings to your comfort, too dim not only damages your eyes but also cause you to squint creating wrinkles around your eyes and in between your eyebrows
Keep Allergies Away
Dust and mites can trigger allergic reactions, causing you to tear up, crinkle the skin around your eyes or worst make you rub the delicate skin around your eyes. Stock up on antihistamines and nasal sprays
Blink blink blink
Prolonged screen time may lessen your blink rate,s especially if you are in the zone causing your eyes to dry out and the skin around your eyes to go dull.
Pamper your eyes
Make sure you make time to rest your eyes. Get a luxurious eye cream, put on hydrating eye patches or slices of cucumber after a long day of work you and your eyes need it. 😘

Meditation has so many benefits for the mind, body, and soul. Ultimately, it brings us clarity and awareness.
This is amazing for your mind that is overrun with negative thoughts and worries. But that’s not all.
𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽𝘀 𝘁𝗼:
1. Reduces stress
2. Controls anxiety
3. Promotes emotional health
4. Enhances self-awareness
5. Lengthens attention span
6. Improves memory
7. May help fight addiction
8. Improves sleep
9. Reduces pain
10. Decreases blood pressure

How to Practice Meditation
Set a Time
Meditation is amazing at any time of day, but I suggest starting with as soon as you wake and just before bed.

How Long
You can meditate for as little or as long as you like. But you can start with 2 mins but it is achievable and you will feel the benefits. Also starting small creates a habit that you can then expand on.

Music or Silence
I would recommend some music as it helps to keep you focused and not away in thought. You can find meditation music on YouTube and meditation apps. But feel free to meditate in silence also.

Create a Space
Creating a sacred space for meditation makes you want to practice more. Not only that but you have an instant sense of calm entering your meditation space. It’s not necessary, but it sure does help. Think about candles, art, cushions, and blankets.

Get Comfy
Ok, so you’re in your space and ready to meditate. But before you start to be sure to get comfy. You don’t want to be distracted by comfort. So, move about, grab your cushion and blanket, set your music and sit.

Posture
It is best to sit with an upright spine, chin slightly tucked and palms open. You can sit on a meditation cushion or a chair. Also, you can lay down if it’s more comfortable. Then gently close down your eyes.

Breathe
Now breathe deeply and pay attention to your breath. Throughout the whole meditation just focus on your breath and nothing else.

Observe Your Thoughts
Allow your thoughts to come and go. Don’t judge them or go deep into thought. Let them pass like a cloud in the sky.

To Finish
When the meditation has finished, slowly open your eyes and smile. Take in the feeling of calm and peace and carry it with you throughout your day.
