As much as I ABSOLUTELY love cake, no one needs 5 or 6 tiers...... unless you have the whole of the British Army coming to your wedding!!!.....

So why not just go for 2 tiers and some clever stacking for that all important cutting of the cake photo!!

One Tier or two??

PREPARATION ||

It takes hours and sometimes days to make all of those sugarpaste flowers by hand which adorn our cakes so it's great to get a few months notice for bookings. Most of my clients book around a year ahead at the same time they are booking our flowers.

♡

With the chaos if the last few months it's really taught me how prepared I can be and I now have a nice collection of ready made flowers which can be used for last minute orders! So pleased I have been able to get myself in gear and get this done!

RE-BRAND ||

So I just thought that I would give myself a bit of an introduction. A designer by trade and day job as a buyer but in my spare time I DO weddings. You may also follow the floral side of my business

♡

The business started a few years ago when I started growing cut flowers for florists and within a year I began to do the floristry myself too............Although I have jumped ahead a little here because 10 years ago I learned sugarcraft. I made a few wedding and occasion cakes but not on a serious level really. The bookings were mainly for novelty cakes but it's not an area which excites me. Even the wedding bookings were on the novelty side. Race tracks and tour de France themed cakes.........I love flowers, and prettyness and texture so I just guessed that me and cake making were not meant to be!

Then when I started Fuchsia Blooms more and more brides were asking for flower toppers or recommendations for cake makers. So at the start of lockdown I decided it was now or never and took the time to experiment and find my style. I re branded from Plain Jane Cakes to Fuchsia Blooms Bakes to get synergy between the two sides of the business and they now complement each other perfectly.

We have a range of new flavours, textured bases and beautiful toppers in either sugarpaste or real organic flowers from the plot!

And I am finally happy with our style and direction!! Hopefully I can wow you with some more amazing creations and if you would like to book cakes or flowers or both then just get in touch.

This stone texture is just soooooo luxurious. It's a world away from the techniques I was taught only ten years ago. It's amazing how styles change over the years and how our own styles change.
