Despite the cold weather and rain, my friend and I had a wonderful day. We enjoyed a lovely walk through Rhinebeck, followed by taking in the picturesque landscapes of Tivoli.

A serendipitous moment! At a recent pop-up, I had the pleasure of meeting Pat from .pots who just happened to be my neighbor at the event. A very talented ceramist, her earthy glazes and organic shapes immediately caught my eye- I couldn’t resist and ended up buying two pieces! While she describes herself as a novice, her passion for the craft truly shines through. I couldn’t wait to arrange some leftover flowers using one of her vessels. Is a future collaboration in the works? Stay tuned!

A few more floral moments from the recent rehearsal dinner beautifully captured by the uber-talented . Guests dined under a flurry of cascading foliage, grasses, and lovely seasonal flowers, most of which were locally grown on neighboring farms. The room was filled with the vibrant colors and fresh scents of the summer season, making the evening so special.

Scenes from a rehearsal dinner in Upstate New York. Inspired by the pastoral landscape, native florals, and grasses, the floral arrangements reflected the natural beauty of the venue in Gardiner. Dahlias, cosmos, zinnia, and celosia in rich hues of burgundy, wine, and mulberry were layered to create lush floral textures used in the centerpieces and bud vases. These lovely blooms, as well as other grasses and flowers, were locally grown in Westchester and the Hudson Valley. The tablescapes were complemented by tapered candles and plum fruit in compote dishes, with tea lights in small terracotta pots adding a warm glow.

The symbolic meaning of plum fruit encompasses love, romance, prosperity, good fortune, longevity and resilience. These attributes made it a perfect addition to the celebration. Congratulations to Alex and Madeline!
