The McFarland Police Department is requesting the community’s support in providing a ballistic vest for our police dog, Khan, who plays an essential role in ensuring the safety of our community. As a K9 officer, Khan is on the front lines, working alongside our law enforcement team to detect drugs, apprehend suspects, and protect civilians from dangerous situations. However, despite their critical role, police dogs are often exposed to extreme risks, including the threat of gunfire and other forms of harm.
For a police dog like Khan, a ballistic vest could mean the difference between life and death, especially in high-risk situations where suspects may be armed.
Unfortunately, budget constraints often prevent police departments from covering the cost of these necessary protective vests for K9 officers. The cost of a high-quality ballistic vest is approximately $3000.00, and we are seeking a donation to help equip Khan with the proper protective gear. By contributing to this cause, you will be directly supporting the safety and well-being of a dedicated working dog who risks his life daily to protect our community.
