ØMMIS The Leodensians New review live at the Parish

Musically The Leodensians definitely have the chops.... each band member has the talent to stretch it, and in my book they should.

Lead singer Simmo teased us with the promise of some nips, playfully pointing out that before he flashes his body for our entertainment, he wanted to prove he was a voice. He quickly established that voice with a strong solid, tuneful set with the band just as polished and poised behind him.

Another Wednesday and another 3:2:1 night at Huddersfield Parish Bar. For some, Wednesday is the dullest night of the week but who can resist three free bands, £2 beers and 1 something else I never…

New review Emergency Break Band Hometown.

I love an artist with confidence and a vision and I get it in spades with London based Emegency Break. New single Hometown jumps out of the speakers and fair slaps you around the face.

New review Marvin's Revenge Hugs From Grandma

If the B52’s had a son they had locked in chains in a log cabin in the woods for 20 years: emerging in his prime with a menace and an impatient need to devour the world with one howl. This would sound like Big Snake.

As a one time wanna be vocalist, I particularly adore voice and Hugs From Grandma gives me chills. Deep, assured and solid with an unabashed northern accent; this is Kurt Cobain from the Dales.

To close Hugs From Grandma is the magnificent Eating Flowers, which has a delicious dark grungy fuzz to it. There is a delicious stoned paranoia threaded through the rock core of Eating Flowes. The line in the song about eating flowers on the coach, and wondering whether anyone knows struck a cord.

That feeling when you are close enough to the front of the stage. Close enough to see the speakers bounce and pound with the sound. Close enough to feel the vibrations shake through your every atom…
