The rally will begin promptly at 2:15pm and is an opportunity to show solidarity, strength in numbers, and send a clear message to the world that LGBTQ+ rights are human rights. After the rally, join friends, loved ones, and allies in a Street Party featuring live performances, speeches, partnership stalls and the infamous Gayleidh!

TOMORROW - FLORA MURRAY MUSICAL TRIBUTE 🎼💜💚

Join us for an evening of musical & spoken word tributes to the extraordinary life of local lass, suffragette, medical pioneer, radical activist & q***r icon Dr Flora Murray.
The evening will take place at Dumfries Museum where the audience will also be able to view the exhibition dedicated to celebrating and commemorating the extraordinary life and times of Dr Flora Murray, on the centenary of her death.
We have co-curated a very special evening of musical and spoken word tributes featuring folk musicians Rachel Walker and Aaron Jones who have recently written a song about Flora for their album ‘Despite the Wind and the Rain’, which celebrates under represented women in Scottish History.

A special collaboration between D&G Arts Festival, DJ McDowall of The Imaginarium & Dumfries Museum for Dumfries Pride.
Doors will open at 7pm for you to view the Flora Murray Exhibition with the performances starting at 7.30pm. (Please note that the exhibition is up a flight of stairs).

Inspired by the inclusive works of Diane Arbus and the wonderful colours of the pride season, we invite you to enter our arts contest!

With professional artists as our judges and some great prizes including a £50 voucher for Cass Art Glasgow and £50 for the Gay Pride Shop Online. Our 3 categories are Portraiture, The Colours of Pride and "Otherness".

Simply email the photograph or a digital image of your work to [email protected] with your name, pronouns and which theme(s) you're entering. Use "Pride Arts Contest" as your subject to ensure we find it!
Entrants must be over 12 years old. Artists will own all copyrights to the work, but entries may be shared on socials for Gracefield Arts, Pride and the Tate Galleries.

Dumfries Pride and Gracefield Arts Centre have teamed up and are hosting an arts contest inspired by the ARTIST ROOMS Diane Arbus exhibition on display at Gracefield Arts Centre until 29 July. Diane Arbus was one of the most original and influential photographers of the 20th century, pioneering a bold new approach that redefined documentary photography. Through her commitment ‘to photograph everybody’, Arbus was drawn to marginalised people and communities, documenting their lives, appearances and emotions.

There are 3 different categories you can enter:

Please note, we can only accept one entry per person per category.

🏳️‍⚧️ 💪 Last week saw the Gender Recognition Reform Bill pass stage one debate in Holyrood - an immense result! There’s still a long way to go, though, which is why it’s just as important as ever to continue to advocate for our Trans and non-binary friends and loved ones.
