📣ANNOUNCEMENT📣

Open World is now officially closed. After several hardships last summer, I decided it was time to slow down and let things come to me instead of pushing myself too hard to make it happen. I have kept working for the local 2SLGBTQI+ community I adore, but differently. You will still see me around however. AS of today, I am leveling up and becoming a member of Capital Pride’s Board of Directors. I am looking forward to help our local Pride organization celebrate, advocate, educate and connect in respect of the full spectrum of the National Capital Region’s diversity.🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Thank you to each and everyone who attended, contributed, or performed for one of Open World’s events. This community is rich and diverse. Let’s promote it and encourage it as much as we can. Attend local q***r initiatives, tip your performers and donate more than ever to organizations doing the good work. As we are facing major setbacks here and broad, we will partly win by celebrating q***r joy they are trying to silence.

I am very proud of the venues we sold out, the money we raised, the talent we promoted, the people I met, and the friends I made. I crossed off my bucket list several ideas involving drag and geek culture. I made the events I wanted to see happening in this city. Some of them worked, some of them did not come to full realization, but at least I tried darn it.

This year, Open World Productions experimented. Some initiatives were a success and some of them did not work. It was disappointing, but this is how you grow. New venues, new formats, new partnerships. It has been quiet in the last few months, but I trust the process. I wish to thank each and everyone who said yes to a project or purchased a ticket. We could not have done it without you.

I wish you all the success, happiness and good health for 2023. May our communities thrive in these times where q***r entertainment is having bad press. Let's show them that we are celebrating who we are and showing everyone they are welcomed and loved. Nothing more, nothing less.

Thank you everyone for this sold-out drag bingo fundraiser for Laine Johnson - College Ward. We raised more than 1300$ to help Laine becoming the councillor Bells Corners and College Ward deserve.

Bigots are trying to come for drag using kids as a shield, so I thought a policy was appropriate in these circumstances. Guns kill children, not drag. You can see a snapshot below.

Thanks everyone for their patience while we see how this weather situation plays out.

At this point, scattered thunderstorms will force us to move forward planning the event indoors, unfortunately not opening up additional tickets/seating. That said, if we have any cancellations we will reach out via email to offer up any available seats.

We don't have another show date scheduled at this time with Kichesippi for Drag on Tap but we'll do our best to give you advance notice of the next ticket release date.

Tomorrow is the day we will decide if Drag on Tap - Pride Month Edition is happening indoors or outdoors based on weather forecast. If the event is outside, extra tickets will be released.

On June 21st we'll verify the forecast and if the weather looks good enough to guarantee an outdoor show we'll release a limited number of tickets (25 or so) in a 2nd release. Drag on Tap is back at Kichesippi Beer right on time for Pride Month this Thursday June 23rd!

Open World Productions will bring some of the best drag entertainment in town with your host Niqqi Freya Frostbite Vanderaa, Anni Elation Queen, Caligula and Mandragorra.

Proceeds of this event will be donated to Northern Lights Refuge, an organization sponsoring LGBTQ+ refugees that are in life-threatening situation in refugee camps around the world. Kichesippi will also donate 1$ from every pint sold during that event.

Come celebrate the diversity within our community, buy a few pints for a good cause, and enjoy some food from our food trucks onsite.

The event should be held outside on the patio or inside in case of bad weather.

Kimmy Kim, Niqqi Freya Frostbite Vanderaa, Caligula, and Mandragorra King will be live with us at the Calabogie Brewery's Kanata taproom on May 26th! Expect an evening of fierce entertainent and highly skilled performers!

Doors open at 6:00PM to get some dinner and drinks in advance, and the show starts at 7:00PM, ending at 9:00PM!

Please be aware that all seat tickets are available for single purchase - so if you're not buying a full table, you may be seated with others who purchase the remaining seats at that table.

Performers will be dynamic, moving and engaged with the crowd, therefore every seat will have a great view!
