Just a note of reminisce.
We opened our doors to the public in 2011 and now 13 years later we are closing them.
I believe we met our mission with pride and honor serving the general public for costume rentals, MP/TV production for goods and services and Mardi Gras Krewes with Royality and rider costumes. We were not always perfect and learned a lot on the way.
Most of all, as the owner of SCC I can fondly look back at my krewe with fond memories, the ups and downs and do so with little regret. There were good days and simply awful ones, we laughed, we cried and through it allI feel like we had some really meaningful relationships and became one as a family.
The relationships formed with our vendors, I felt was earnest and sincere. We worked together honestly and fairly, thanks to everybody that was so kind to the new kid on the block. Thank you all.
We will miss too all of our customers. The shop pulled in every manner and type that one could possibly think of. A more diverse group I cannot imagine as such was the nature of our offering.
So another chapter closes and we begin the next with great expectations.
April is the cruelest month breeding
Lilacs out of the dead land, mixing
Memory and desire, stirring
Dull roots with spring rain.
What are you wearing?

Just finishing up for "Zulu". Happy Mardi Gras!
Duck duck, chicken soup!
Well folks we are nearing that time of year. Mardi Gras is upon us and will be here before we know it. We are busy at the shop getting ready and are fortunate enough to have a hand in various courts and krewes. Can anyone guess who this is for?
I may not be "The Most Intersting Man" in New Orleans but I have the most interesting job and a great Krewe of my own. Come and check us out!

Southern Costume Company was approached last week by a major software concern about working with them on an upcoming marketing campaign. We agreed to help out. They in turn asked us to put together a quick video to confirm our ability to play to same, in other words to verify that we could walk, talk, chew gum and shoot a video at the same time. This is what we hurriedly put together, enjoy!
