Watup Fam! As y’all may have noticed we have been a bit M.I.A. That’s because I am working on rebranding and a lot of possible new changes coming too. The main focus of this group is to build Q***r community through food and growing. Ideally we want to accomplish this through the integration of arts and collaboration. Right now we are planning to collab with a Social Justice teacher from @barringerhs and QTPOC urban farmers from @ironboundcommunitycorp. The goal is to build a school community garden at Barringer HS. When we talk about systematic racism, education and environment should be at the forefront of these conversations. We often hear excuses that it takes time, it takes money and this is total bull s**t. There are an immense amount of things that can be done now to start these changes. Bureaucracy makes it hard to change things at the urgency we want which is why it’s important for us to take matters into our own hands. Environmental injustice is part of this oppressive system so our focus is really shifting to educating QTPOC youth and adults how to self sustain themselves with skills like growing food and cooking. Beautifying urban environments that are often polluted and creating fresh food accessibility for these places. So if we are not as present on our social media platform know that we are in the planning stages of this collaborative community project. We will continue to use this page as a way to build Q***r community, to celebrate food and culture through our boundless identities. We thank y’all for sharing this space with us. For following our journey and believing in us. In the meantime, enjoy the poached egg yolk drip over the tortellini in creamy raspberry jam wine sauce. The dark sweet wine and the dense white cream unify together to create a hearty dish that is balanced and just💚🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️🙌🏿🙌🙌🏾🙌🏼.
