Eco Party Pack St Neots

1. What is Eco Party Pack St Neots? It’s a zero waste partyware supply system which was set up to try and limit (and hopefully eventually stop) the use of disposable partyware such as paper plates and cups. Many people aren’t aware that most paper based partyware is not suitable for recycling because it has a plastic film over it. It generally just gets added to landfill.

We are a couple of friends who live in St Neots, care passionately about limiting our impact on the planet and want to do our bit to preserve this planet for our children and future generations. Having entered into the crazy world of children's parties, we decided that we would invest in an environmentally friendly party pack to use for our own children’s parties, but also to loan to friends and others in the local area who feel the same as us.

The party pack can be used for any event, celebration or get together really – it’s not limited to children’s parties. It’s an added bonus that once costs are covered any money we make goes to charity.

2. What’s in the box? 36 plastic plates, bowls, cups, knives, forks and spoons. 2 plastic jugs. 2 wipe clean tablecloths, 1 patterned tablecloth, selection of platters and serving bowls. Happy birthday bunting. 8 strings of multicoloured bunting. 1 Party Time hanging decoration.

Our plates etc. are BPA free and dishwasher safe (on the top shelf only). They are also very robust and therefore hopefully pretty resilient to children’s antics!

This is the maximum we can offer at this point in time, but of course if you need less than this please let us know and we’ll supply accordingly. We are a start up scheme and hope to add to the pack in time. (Watch this space...)

3. Costs We’re trying to limit our fees as much as possible to encourage people to opt for our zero waste alternative to cheap disposable party ware. We charge £5 to hire the party pack and a refundable £15 deposit, so £20 payment in total. All profits will be donated to a local charity, we have a few in mind but always welcome to hear suggestions.

The full amount (£20) will be taken via PayPal to secure the booking. The deposit will be returned to you if the complete pack is returned on time, clean and undamaged within 24 hours. If items are late, missing, damaged or dirty we will retain all or part of the deposit as deemed appropriate to cover our costs.

4. Logistics So here’s the deal. You tell us you want to borrow the party pack, pay the hire fee and deposit and arrange collection/drop off and return. We supply the pack to you clean and ready to use and we ask that you return it to us in the same condition.

We run our booking system to allow enough turn around time between events and the system only works if all users comply with the arranged return dates and times. We know how stressful it can be to organise a big event, so we’ll always be as flexible as we can be with regard to timings of collection/drop off and return of the party pack. Please be aware that if the previous user fails to return the party pack or returns it in an unusable condition, we will notify you as soon as possible and provide a full refund.

5. Allergies We both have personal experience of the challenges of living with food allergies and will always go the extra mile to make sure you are comfortable with using our party pack should you choose to. The party pack comes back to us having been washed by the previous user and therefore we can’t say for sure that it’ll be allergen free. If you are concerned about using plasticware which has been previously exposed to allergens, you may choose to wash items before use. Just let us know if you have any questions about this
