What’s so exciting about some sewing machines? They’re a dream come true for 4 young guys in Uganda standing up to the world’s most severe anti-gay law enacted in May.

They registered a nonprofit & sent us a proposal in October. We’ve raised more than half of their $3K budget. Now, they’ve bought these machines, rented a workspace, bought barrels for tables, chairs and storage, and fabric. Now, they are on their way to “Tailoring Our Way to Freedom.”

These guys have been hunted down, brutally beaten, robbed, threatened with death, and are overcoming challenges we can’t imagine. We can all be a part of this remarkable undertaking http://givebutter.com/tailor

Uganda: Reject anti-LGBTI law that criminalizes same-s*x s*xual activity.

Responding to the news that Uganda’s Parliament has passed a law that criminalizes consensual s*xual activity between adults of the same s*x, Tigere Chagutah, Amnesty International’s Regional Director for East and Southern Africa, said:

“President Yoweri Museveni must urgently veto this appalling legislation, which was passed following a rushed vote on Tuesday evening. The law, dubbed the ‘2023 Anti-Homos*xuality Bill’, amounts to a grave assault on LGBTI people and is contemptuous of the Ugandan constitution.
