GENERAL TRIAS BRAVES GO FOR THE CLINCHER, FACES SAN JUAN KNIGHTS EXILE IN KNOCKOUT CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

In a game where its conference long- unbeaten record will no longer matter, the General Trias Braves vows to give it their all.

This Sunday at the General Trias Sports Complex, the Southern Division Finals Champion Braves will face the Northern Division Champs San Juan Knights Exile for the Central Conference Championship of the CBA Pilipinas Founders Cup.

The Exile parallel the Braves in firepower and chemistry. Another advantage that they will be exploiting on is their youthfulness against the veteran-laden Braves..

"Medyo tough, San Juan is a young and very talented team. The core oi their team have been training together for years. It will take a total team effort to beat them.", said Braves Coach John Flores.

The Braves will have to rely anew on its players' veteran smarts if it hopes to hurdle the Exile's challenge. Flores is confident, however, that his wards will be ready especially since the game will be all for the marbles.

"This last game will be our toughest test. I believe that the boys will be ready come Sunday.", Flores added.

One thing that will be going for them is the home crowd of Gentriseños, whose all-out support was pretty evident in their title-clinching Conference finals victory against Bagong Parañaque.

It is this same crowd that the Braves hope they will be hoisting the Championship trophy in front of.

The lone championship game is set at 6:00 pm and will also be aired live over the Glitter page as well as in free tv at IBC 13.

GENERAL TRIAS BRAVES ENTER CBA PILIPINAS FOUNDERS CUP FINALS IN COME FROM BEHIND WIN VS PARAÑAQUE.

In a game where they were threatened like never before, the General Trias Braves rose to the occasion and overcame a tough Bagong Parañaque team.

Down by 8 with 9:17 to go in the payoff quarter, the Braves shut their foes for nearly 5 minutes and scored 13 unanswered points to for a 90-83 victory and get crowned as the Southern Division Champions to the delight of their home crowd at the General Trias Sports Complex last night.

More importantly, the Braves booked a ticket to the finals in the inaugural CBA Pilipinas Founders Cup. The win also kept them undefeated at the tournament.

Veteran Chester Ian Melencio was at the forefront of that 4th quarter assault, scoring 11 of his season high 24 points in that telling 13-0 run. He was ably supported by Ernesto Bondoc, Mark Guillen and Marlito Escobal who all scored in double figures whose timely shots helped keep the Bagong Parañaque at bay.

Parañaque was led by Dwight Saguguit with 22 points followed by Dhon Revirente with 15. Both proved to be huge thorns in the side of the Braves as they kept the game close nearly the rest of the way.

So evenly matched were General Trias and Parañaque that both teams battled through several deadlocks and lead changes before their successive 4th quarter runs. Braves guard Joe-Cel Prudente also took a bad fall in the 2nd half but managed to shake it off to finish the game with 5 points.

The Braves drew strength from the multitude of Gentriseños who came in and supported them. Also there to support the team were City Officials led by Vice Mayor Maurito Morit Sison who is also the team’s Governor.

The Braves now await the victor between the Caloocan Saints and the San Juan Knights-Exile who will battle at 6 tonight for the Northern Division Finals.

GENERAL TRIAS BRAVES TAKES SHOT AT FINALS, EYES REPEAT WIN AGAINST BAGONG PARAÑAQUE

It will take only one win for the unbeaten General Trias Braves to enter the finals of the inaugural season of the Community Basketball Association Founders Cup.
Of course, that's easier said than done.

In this Saturday's Southern Division Finals, the Braves will again take on a Bagong Parañaque side that is looking not only to avenge its earlier loss to but also to achieve its own goal of booking a finals seat.

General Trias barely escaped with a 3 point win against Parañaque which bolstered its lineup with the mid-season acquisition of Pao Castro and Dhon Reverente--- something that is not lost among the Braves’ coaching staff.

"Medyo mahihirapan tayo dahil malakas ang Parañaque at deserving din silang pumasok sa stage na ito dahil sa mga ipinakita nila sa mga nagdaan nilang laro. We will need to be tough, patient and smart to counter their strength.", said Braves Coach John Flores.

The Braves will have to rely on its players' veteran smarts and familiarity if it hopes to hurdle a young and athletic Parañaque side. They promise to give it all for the home crowd of Gentriseños who are expected to come in droves.

“Syempre hindi po natin papayagan na manalo sila sa sarili natin pamamahay. Sabi nga po PATAY KUNG PATAY! Sa sistema po ni Coach John, tiwala po ako na mananalo tayo.”, stressed Braves player Joe-cel Taglinao Prudente.

The game will be held at the General Trias Sports Complex at 6:00 pm. The winner will face the victor of the Northern Division finals between the San Juan Kinghts-Exile and the Caloocan Saints.

GENERAL TRIAS BRAVES CRUISES TO AN EASY WIN VERSUS MARIKINA SAPATEROS; SETS DIVISION FINALS AGAINST BAGONG PARAÑAQUE

The General Trias Braves made sure there won’t be any more major uprising on the part of its elimination round foe.

In a game which it dominated from start to finish, the unbeaten Braves overwhelmed the Sapateros to the score of 96-69 and set up a Southern Division finals match against the Bagong Parañaque in the inaugural CBA Pilipinas Founders Cup. The loss eliminated the Sapateros from the playoff picture and ended its campaign in the tournament.

So dominating were the Braves that it led as high as 33 points. The Sapateros tried to make a comeback early in the 3rd quarter but was quickly subdued by a 9-0 run by the Braves. The latter built its huge lead on a near perfect offensive game anchored on successive fastbreaks, inside conversions and consistent outside shots.

The Sapateros were once again led by Jr Ng Sang but was limited to 13 points and 4 rebounds this time thanks to the Braves’ tough defense. The Braves meanwhile had of all of its players contributing with 5 chipping in double figures. They were led by hometown players Haddi Porto, Joe-cel Prudente, Jonathan Rivera and Jhong Bondoc who conspired in that telling 2nd quarter run that made the game beyond reach.

With its victory, the Braves hope to repeat its elimination round victory against a tough Bagong Parañaque side who defeated the Manila Sausage Kings earlier, 96-87 and advance to the CBA Founders Cup finals.

The Northern Division will have its knockout playoffs tomorrow with the Bulacan Heroes taking on the Caloocan Saints in the first game and the San Juan Knights Exile facing the Valenzuela Zival Express in the first and 2nd games respectively at the Aquinas Gym in the City of San Juan.

The tournament format will have the top two protagonists of each division squaring off with the winners facing each other off in the Finals.

GENERAL TRIAS BRAVES BATTLES MARIKINA SAPATEROS IN KNOCKOUT PLAYOFFS MATCH

The CBA Pilipinas Founders Cup playoffs is well underway and the General Trias Braves are girding for war.

Although unbeaten in all of its games, the Braves aim to avoid that one single defeat that would spell doom in their ultimate goal of winning the inaugural CBA Pilipinas Founders Cup Championship when it takes on the Marikina Sapateros this Saturday at 10:30 am at the General Trias Sports Complex.

The Braves know too well that their undefeated record is immaterial now with the game against the Sapateros being a knockout match in the CBA playoffs.

In their first meeting, the Braves defeated the Sapateros, 109-99 but had encountered some anxious moments with the latter climbing back from an 18 polnt deficit and even tying the game at 69 in the third quarter.

Aside from the expected hometown crowd, Braves Coach John Flores also hopes to offset Marikina's uptempo game with his veteran-laden teams' trademark experience and discipline.

"Mabilis at puro shooter ang Marikina. Run and gun ang preferred game nila. Ang strength nila nasa guards. Dun sila kumukuha ng puntos. Kelangan ma neutalize natin sila pati na rin yung uptempo game.", Flores said.

The winner of the General Trias-Marikina match will face the winner between the Manila Sausage Kings and Bagong Parañaque who will be squaring off in the first game at 9:00 am.

The Northern Division will have its knockoff playoffs on Sunday with the Bulacan Heroes taking on the Caloocan Saints at 10:00 am and the San Juan Knights Exile squaring off against the Valenzuela Zival Express at 11:30 am at the Aquinas Gym in the City of San Juan.

The teams that emerges on top of their respective divisions will battle for the CBA Pilipinas Founders' Cup championship.
