DJ Whitney Fierce
Refinery29 says, “[this girl’s] about to break, big time.” Perhaps this is one of those moments when you should believe the hype. After cutting her teeth as a DJ in NYC, Whitney Fierce joined Hercules and Love Affair as a vocalist and touring member. Shortly thereafter she sang their DJ Kicks single “Release Me.” Upon returning to LA Whitney reunited with her first love, DJing, and has produced her first solo EP which is being released on Rock It Science Laboratories. Fierce also laid down guest vocals on Subb-an’s new EP Vapour Trails on Crosstown Rebels, co-produced and did vocals on the lead single for Eric Sharp’s last RIS Labs EP “Wait Just Wait,” and has a string of collaborations in the works for the near future. If you haven’t heard of Whitney Fierce yet, the coming months may prove her impossible to ignore. She has played for Dior in Paris, Nylon in New York, the Mayor in LA, and is New Order’s tour DJ. Fierce is also quickly racking up club and festival plays as the word spreads about her sophisticated style. On the decks, Fierce blends her background of classical musicianship with a powerful flair for the eccentric, bearing sexy bangers pumped-full with catharsis and a stylish humor that basks in the dance-floor madness. She is very proud to play non-s**tty tunes, and is still stoked about not being universally hated. Also, important people say she’s cool (aaand that’s the point at which you should probably start questioning the hype.)

A little baby Easter. 7 pounds of lamb and as many pounds of ricotta later. Hi from my Italian butcher of a husband who is also a wildly talented pasta maker which is a perfect complement to my pesto skills. Big love for , her pesto dipped phone, and the whole fam. Had a mid evening costume change after pouring EVOO down my leg which was a perfect moment to showcase my new family heirloom pearls. See, also: great great grandma’s lace table cloth. Last minute Easter worked out alright.

Cannot wait to play with again in New Orleans on the 18th. I’ve been lucky enough to tour with them through a notably innovative time in phone camera technology (lol some of those photos). It's hard to believe that after 6 years, I'm selling my Detroit house. It has been an absolute labor of love and a reliable excuse for drinking. Who knew taking on a hundred-year-old, three-story, 3600-square-foot duplex would take me down the paths it did. As much as I love this home, it's time to move on. It was a cathartic experience hand-finishing and staging the house myself. It's perfect and I can't wait for a new owner to love all of the hard work that I and the whole support team put in. Big shouts to for not divorcing me, to (and ) for letting me be all up in their life all the time, to for the inspiration, support, help, and martinis.
