Well we have reached The weekend to pack the car for the drive to Duluth (Atlanta) for the long waited COAI convention. Hopefully I will get to see many of my FB clown friends there. TIPS FOR BEIGINNERS
1-Be yourself- its ok to immulate-take what you learn and make it your own
2-There are many products on the shelf- but you cant buy everything at once and learn it all but all can be learned in time- Magic, Juggling-Ventriloquism- puppets -storytelling- physical comedy- watch others not just from todays market, but from yesterdays as well-Vaudeville-early Variety TV- watch sitcoms -comedy teams-standup
3-Invest in yourself, your knowledge, skills, daily practice (don’t wait till you think your perfect, the way to hone your skills is to get out there and use them-read-get involved in your Ring, club or alley- go to some form of education and be sure to go to conventions, not only are they fun, but what you learn in a few days would take you months on your own.
4-FUN FUN FUN- If you don’t have fun how can you make it fun for someone else- Play to your entire audience, not just those in front of you, play to the back of the room and don’t forget the sides of the room as well.
5- Lots to learn, make it fun, make lots of friends as you learn-Variety arts are loved by all so do it..
6- Ih one very important point is to record yourself so you can watch and fix where you think fixing is needed
