Mescal Movie Set's legendary mascot has ruled the set for 12 years. The photo shows her fresh from a dust bath, perched on the Mercantile porch surveying her town. When not mingling with guests and volunteers, Sammy curls up safe and secure on her favorite chair in the Redemption Saloon.

You can meet Sammy when you visit the iconic Western movie set.

IAnd, it's about another 30 to 45 minutes, through Texas Canyon, to reach Willcox Arizona, the home of Rex Allen, the Arizona Cowboy. Beautiful museums, and restaurants along downtown Railroad Avenue.

How do you get to Tombstone, Arizona? This is a question we are still asked We have shared this map before but it’s still a great visual:
DIRECTIONS: If you are driving from outside the area, the most common route is to take Interstate 10 to Benson, Arizona, and then follow Highway 80 south to Tombstone. The drive takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes from Tucson, and about 3 hours from Phoenix.�If you are flying, the closest major airport is Tucson International Airport (TUS), which is located approximately 70 miles north of Tombstone. Several major airlines offer flights to and from Tucson, with connections to many other cities across the United States and around the world. From the airport, you can rent a car or arrange for a shuttle to take you to Tombstone.

The Mescal Film Set has a busy film schedule! Since we are an active film set, we must schedule our Historical Tours and special events around film productions. There are times when we need to make changes to our schedule to accommodate filming.

The film industry is taking notice of the dramatic improvements of the set! Our volunteers' hard work and community support have greatly impacted the renovations and appearance of our historical set. If you would like to see the progress and take a Historical Tour of the set, we will be open on the following dates:

Happy Birthday Robert Burke! Robert was born on September 12, in New York City.

He is the son of immigrants from Ireland and has a strong affinity for Ireland and his Irish heritage.

Robert became an active New York State firefighter after helping with the rescue efforts during 9/11. He is involved in multiple foundations supporting firefighters.

Burke holds a second-degree black belt in karate.

Fans recognize Robert as Frank McLaury in the classic Western "Tombstone ."You will also see him in many other popular films, including "RoboCop3", "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind", "Thinner", "Law and Order: SVU," "Person of Interest," "Rescue Me," and more.

Robert attended the Tombstone 30th Cast Reunion held in Tombstone last June. He was recognized and honored by the Tombstone Fire Department at the event.

Mescal Movie Set's Cowboy Christmas event is held at the famous film set where over 100 classic Westerns were filmed. Last year, over 1,700 people enjoyed the 2- day event and this year our goal is to top 2,500. The event features craft vendors of all kinds, demonstrations music, food, and a special visit from Santa Claus! A fun event for everyone!

​Registration applications are welcome from vendors that provide Western-oriented goods and services. The Mescal Movie Set reserves the right to refuse vendor applications deemed not suitable for the intended audience of the Cowboy Christmas event.

The tours are a limited engagement and will be available only at specific times.

SELF-GUIDED TOUR
Receive a tour map and walk the set to visit the iconic locations. Display photos will be posted throughout the set, and historians will be strategically placed to answer questions.

Get your tickets to for July 7-9th in Glendale Arizona! My Aunt Beverly Washburn will be at the booth signing autographs and taking pictures. Beverly is known for her roll as Elizabeth Merrye in the cult classic film "Spider Baby" among many many more films and television shows. Also joining them is Mimi Gibson from "The Monster That Challenged The World" as well as the voice of Lucky from "101 Dalmatians". Asylum Records is an INCREDIBLE shop in AZ with tons of great records and signed memorabilia.

The Mescal Movie Set's famous Sunset Tours are a great way to visit a historical set, avoid the heat, enjoy an ice cream cone, and watch an incredible Arizona sunset!

The set has been used in over 100 film productions, including many of your favorite classic westerns. Guests taking a Historical Tour will visit buildings and street locations where memorable scenes from Tombstone, Outlaw Josey Wales, The Quick and the Dead, and many more occurred. Including:

-- The Mercantile Store built by Clint Eastwood for Outlaw Josey Wales.
-- The OK Corral from the movie Tombstone.
-- Virgil's and Wyatt's cottages from Tombstone.
-- The Redemption Saloon from The Quick and The Dead.
-- The Livery where Steve McQueen boarded his horse in Tom Horn.
-- Paul Newman's "Jersey Lily" from The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean.
-- The Brothel frequented by Frank Sinatra in Dirty Dingus Magee.
-- Plus, many more iconic movie scene locations!

Sunset Tour Schedule:
