Happy National Dessert Day! I think wedding cake might be the main reason I decided to become a wedding planner...ok, maybe not the main reason, but definitely a perk of the job! Any day that begins with Peach Bellinis at the Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North is going to be a great day! I snapped some pictures of this gorgeous venue at our WIPA meeting this week. I had a great time catching up with other fabulous wedding pros, learning from the amazing Rebecca Grinnals, Founder and President of Engaging Concepts and enjoying a delicious brunch. Flowers by The Flower Studio and linens from La Tavola. Thanks to the event chair Danielle Geotti. Can't wait to get back to this lovely resort!!

We love how these brides and grooms welcomed their guests with thoughtful gestures! Being gracious hosts and considering your guests' comfort sets the mood for a great party!

These gestures can be as simple as welcoming guests with treats and lemonade on a warm summer day or offering brightly colored parasols to shade partgoers for outdoor festivities. A sweet pre-ceremony hot chocolate bar sets the mood for a cozy winter celebration while a glass of passed bubbly is always an elegant option!

Wedding Etiquette Question of the Day: Who should sit at the head table with us? Do we need to seat our wedding party's dates/spouses at the head table?

This is your day and you can sit with whoever you want to sit with! The days of the traditional head table being your only option are long gone. It's completely acceptable to sit with your family and/or closest friends at a table or the bride and groom can sit together alone at their own sweetheart table. I don't recommend this option if you don't like being the center of attention!

If you opt for a "head table" it can be the traditional long banquet table or you can be seated at a round, square or king's table. Since you are the hosts of the event and want your guests to feel comfortable and appreciated, it's best to allow your wedding party to sit with their spouses. The spouses can join you at the head table or you can opt to seat yourselves among your wedding party at multiple rounds so you and all your guests can be surrounded by loved ones.

It's your day and your decision, but ultimately, the most gracious choice involves the comfort and enjoyment of your wedding party as well. Happy planning!

They were so laid back and just enjoyed the process of planning their urban vintage wedding. Working together to pull together details creating a blend of modern and vintage styles was so fun!

I'd like to start sharing pictures from some of my favorite weddings of the past couple of years. The first was an amazing wedding up in Steamboat Springs - 40 miles north of Steamboat to be more specific. The couple (two of the sweetest, most in-love people ever!) wanted a secluded ranch wedding with the gorgeous Colorado scenery as the backdrop and main decor. Logistics were tricky, but the result was so worth it! Here are a few pictures of the event.
