We are mountain STRONG!

The last 11 days have felt like 111 years. Within this time I have wanted to write a full novel and then I’ve become speechless. In all honesty, there are no words to sum up the depths of traumatic devastation that run alongside the river of miracles.

Within hours this region went from a vibrant worldwide destination to an apocalyptic movie set.

One resounding truth is : everything on this planet is temporary- our houses, jobs, all material possessions, and even our bodies. The only thing that is eternal is heaven!

We can either discover the thick mud left behind as our burial ground of destruction or fertile soil to grow new beautiful life! We our mountain strong because we are choosing the later.

Our communities are coming together to restore and rescue one another alongside incredible teams of heroes. We are digging through the layers of debilitating doubt, shoveling out toxic fear and climbing to higher ground where hope resides.

Political signs in front yards that once left neighbors divided have been washed away and now we are just humans helping humans.

The heartbeat that echos in these hills is LOVE! This love is with humility, serving with gentleness and with pure gratitude giving God all the glory!

I am forever changed from 8/6 (my son’s passing) and only want to stay in this state of mind for the rest of my limited life. It is my prayer that all of WNC experiences this flood as an awakening to stay this strong with true compassion running in our veins.

I pray that even when the sound of sirens and helicopters fade, the trucks leave, and the aid dries up- the river of love stays as tangible as it is today!

Because we are mountain strong.

Another load to Waynesville this morning full of items they requested on Wednesday 🫶🏼❤️ Thank you for everyone that continues to pour your love, supplies, volunteer time & prayers into my hometown and surrounding areas.

No one can truly wrap their heads around how widespread this devastation is. Please continue to share, support and help rebuild. And if you need a connection to these small towns that still need help and volunteers, reach out and I will connect you.

This is far from being better, no matter how the major media outlets are trying to play it off. This is going to take years to fully recover from. Don’t forget about the mountains just because they’re not in the news.

Thank you thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who continues to help and donate and support. God is moving through this!

Caleb made it with the first load of supplies to Waynesville and this is the list we have of needed items!!! I will be going to purchase more of these things with the donations we've received to send on our next trip up there in a few days (he said the roads were good enough to take the enclosed trailer next time so we are gonna try to pile it full!).

We have teams from our church that are making plans to do these runs as well to Avery and Buncombe counties and surrounding areas as Caleb gets things to Haywood county. If you are local to York county, you can drop off these items at FBC Clover at 117 S Main St in Clover or at Clinton Automotive at 502 Kings Mountain St in York and we will handle getting them to the mountains and getting them in the hands of the distribution centers. I cannot tell you guys enough how overwhelmed (in a good way) I have been in the last 24 hours by how much people want to help. Thank you, thank you, thank you! WNC needs this.

Thank you so much to everyone who has donated either monetarily or in supplies so far. The more I hear from people back home, the more I feel called to help and get these items in their hands.

Please continue to pray that these supplies show God's love from our community to theirs and that they can rebuild as soon as possible. Things are more dire than anyone can imagine and it's happening to our loved ones, neighbors and friends. Please spread the word and reach out if you have any other ideas on how to help.

Help is on the way Waynesville 🫶🏼❤️ I cannot begin to tell you all how amazing it was to watch God move so fast yesterday. In less than 10 hours we raised a thousand dollars and had 2 truckloads of supplies delivered to the church!

We bought $500 worth of toiletries and tarps to send with supplies from the church to Waynesville. Once Caleb delivers what he has today he’s going to find out exactly what they need and are running short on so I can go buy more to send with 2 others from our church later this week. Caleb is also going to see if the roads are in good enough condition to be able to take loads in our enclosed trailer too. We’ll be doing regular runs of supplies for the foreseeable future.

We are getting supplies to Haywood, Avery & Buncombe county. I’ll be continuing to take donations (you can send them to me on Venmo at -L-Rhyne) or if you’re in York County and you want to drop water and toiletries and baby supplies off at FBC Clover or Clinton Automotive you can do that as well.

Thank y’all for being the hands and feet of Jesus. We prayed over these supplies this morning that they will give relief to those in such horrendous situations right now and that every piece of equipment and supplies will show those hurting God’s love and mercy and bring them to Him.
