My Passion is Photography

When I tell people that I have a passion for photography, they just look at me and say, "Oh yeah, I like taking pictures too!" No no no people! For me, photography isn't just about taking pictures. It's a form of art and skill that not many understand. A passion is something you could do forever and ever because you love it so much. Snapping shots every now and then does

not count as a passion for photography. I'm not saying that taking pictures of your family vacation or sleepover with friends is wrong but, don't call yourself a "photographer" unless you have a genuine love and passion for it. I've been taking pictures almost every single day for the past two years and can easily say that it's like a stress reliever for me. Whether I'm feeling frustrated or joyful, I just grab my camera and head outside for a walk. Along the way, I can think about my current situation in silence and express my emotions through photos. If I'm feeling sad or upset, my pictures might turn out to have dull colors and deep shadows. If I'm happy or excited, the subject matter is usually something bright in color and fresh looking. When I look through that camera lens, it's like I turn into a different person and see things through different eyes.
