For those who don’t know, I’m a wedding stylist from Cebu City, Philippines, so I’m surrounded by glamour all the time.
It’s always nice styling for friends and colleagues. This wedding was for my videographer friend who helped me with my videos during the pandemic. In return, I promised to help him with his wedding. The day came and it was pouring! But rain or shine, the wedding pushed through, of course, with the cityscape as their background. It added drama to the intimate and classy theme of modern/industrial with the color scheme of black and white. Congrats and best wishes to the newly weds!
The event I styled last night was a special one. It was an intimate birthday dinner for Ms. Bea Zobel de Ayala hosted by Ms. and the guests were super VVIP. I was honored to have been given the privilege to exercise my creative freedom with the help of the event organizer, . It was also a nice surprise that the flowers I used turned out to be the celebrant’s favorite flowers. My idol, Tita Teresin was also in attendance so extra pressure on me but everything turned out well! The trust a client gives me is always precious to me and it empowers me to go above and beyond.
There are super challenging mangunay moments in a stylist’s life and this is one of those. I cut by hand the fabric used for our ceiling works—literally work of Hans! As in nabuntagan ko just to achieve the bride’s vision of having layers of fabrics look like waves. The lack of sleep was so worth it knowing she loved it. Guided by the color scheme of dusty blue, cream, and white, we set up long tables with acrylic chairs and minimal flowers. It was clean and classy just like how she wanted it.

It was a super fun challenge to transform Marco Polo’s Blu Bar & Grill. Since some of the props couldn’t fit in the elevator, the team had to transport them using the stairs from the basement to the 24th floor. 😅 Our modern disco theme with neon lights, disco balls, and all things shiny came to life after our hard work. It was all worth it for Sir Philip’s 60th birthday concert! 🪩🕺🏼

For this Italian garden-themed wedding reception, we shifted our focus from ceiling works to a large floral installation as the focal point. We paired that statement piece with real trees to bring the theme to life. Since the mother of the groom is into landscaping, she helped us source these very real trees: podocarpus,aura cauria, and Italian pines. To complement the greenery, we used hundreds of bundles of gypsohilas flowers as the main flowers. All this was made possible by the client(Sabrina Sy and Nicholas Villacin and the planner, Stanz Catalan. The results are always good when we choose to help each other out. Congrats newlyweds!!

We transformed Shangri-la’s The Marquee into a stunning homage to the Palace of Versailles for the debut of Diana Gothong. Drawing inspiration from the show Bridgerton, we adorned every corner of the venue with an extravagant display of flowers, complemented by intricate decor that evoked the grandeur and romance of that period. Our goal was to transport the guests into a another world and time reminiscent of the opulence of that era. Thank you to Miss Liza Co-Gothong and family for the trust!

It was fun styling Juna’s birthday and the relaunching of her much bigger and improved Envy Bar . The theme was “disco chic with a tropical twist.” Juna is a client-turned-friend who always asks me to decor her resto bar located in The Gallery Mabolo. I’m always thankful to her and her husband Jeremy Morgan for their kindness and continuous support.

This is by far the most bongga bouquet someone ordered from me. It consists of 12 different flowers for 1 special lady. The flowers are: ranunculus, calla lillies, peonies, phaelanopsis orchid, explorer rose, coral reef rose, moody blues rose, cymbedium, red tulips, peach tulips, dried lavender, parvy, and eucalyptus. 💐

Ocean Park’s venue for events , the ceiling decor is actually not allowed , but that’s perfectly fine because it doesn’t really need to be decorated as it is already beautiful. So we changed strategies and focused on styling the floor arrangement. It turned out better than expected, and the most important thing is that all the styling and decor highlighted the couple Katie and Christian celebrating their big day.

While decorating grandiose events is always fun, working on smaller ones has its charm as well. I was tasked to style a nice, intimate surprise dinner for Ms. Jennifer Que Viloria's birthday as organized by Ms Belinda Wong and her friends. The primary color scheme was yellow to celebrate the sunshine, positivity, and support she brings to the people in her lives. Happy Birthday!!
The latest addition to Nustar’s amazing ballrooms doesn’t have the highest ceiling, so it was a bit of a challenge for us to make the decor grand. Our client was looking forward to us transforming the venue for their mother’s birthday with the theme of ‘emerald,’ her birth stone, so we did our best to install ceiling works that would transform the venue. We incorporated emerald ang gold decorative elements to achieve a modern luxe vibe even without large chandeliers. What do you think of the results?

For this bridal shower, we kept it clean, simple, and elegant with an all-white theme and a hint of blush. The intimate garden set-up for 12 pax made the occasion even more special for Carri Lexcia!
At The Marquee at Shangri-la, we went above and beyond for the reception, crafting not one but three entrance tunnels. Additionally, we created a grand staircase at the stage area for the couple's grand entrance, which was also a first for the team. Departing from the norm, they ascended from below, surfacing atop the stairs for a dramatic descent. With Gap Mobile's assistance, we worked together diligently on the mechanism that lifted the bride and groom. Despite the tight 15-hour timeline—unlike our usual days of preparation for larger weddings—we're thrilled with the outcome!

The client generously booked the entire afternoon at the Sacred Heart Church, allowing us ample time to install the bride's dream: the meticulous golden aisle. This was the first time we did a golden aisle, and we were so excited to be able to achieve it for our bride. Every detail fell into place, setting the stage for a truly unforgettable ceremony for Nicole Daniel & Harvard Lim!

Nature’s beauty is incomparable. It’s for this reason that we kept the decor to a minimum to allow Shangri-La Mactan's Ocean Pavillion to shine in all its glory. The mirror aisle reflecting the horizon ties it all together for overall elegance. Both the ceremony and the reception actually happened in that one venue. So after the ceremony, the guests enjoyed some cocktails outside while transformed the venue for the reception. Luckily, the intimate set-up made it a breeze. Congrats Frose and Paolo!!

Nature meets elegance for this beautiful combination, where the charm of the outdoors meets sophistication. Imagine sitting at your table and feeling like you're under a giant tree, surrounded by the sweet scent of fresh flowers. That's the vibe these table centerpieces we put together for Sabby’s 18th birthday. Muted pastels, real peonies, tulips, roses, Matthiola, and a real ficus tree make it feel like a garden oasis. Plus, the matching acrylic chairs and candle holders tie it all together for a bright and clean look.
I can’t believe I met the legendary Teresin Mendezona. On top of that, she made the effort to look for me and express her appreciation, telling me I did great. I was so emotional to hear those words from her. Her compliments just mean the world to me.

In events, lighting is a big part of styling, which is why good lighting is crucial. This is what I love about my job: when I get to collaborate with fellow suppliers to make our vision come true. We only have one goal anyway, and that is to make our clients happy. When Gapmobile Cebu told me about their new round trusses that have a 30ft diameter, I had a light bulb moment. I then shared with the bride ( Jezel Davis) my idea of using those lights to envelope the stage to create a dancing enclosure of sorts. She loved it! What do you think of the results? 😊

So excited for this wedding because the peg is literally, “I love you to the moon and back”—the perfect way to kick off love month! A giant crescent moon is the star of the show, while the entire space is surrounded by elements of the night sky, all glittery and pretty. Congrats Ava and Loven!!

Our theme for this wedding was “modern Filipiniana,” and I did my best to showcase that with Filipino elements and translated them in a modern way. We incorporated our solihiya weaves again using fabric to accentuate the beautiful chandeliers of the NUSTAR ballroom. We used thousands of fans to create a beautiful canopy that hovered over the couple and the guests. We also created an arch with the fans. The entire decor made the room look bright, nostalgic, and romantic. Can you guess how many fans we used?

If you could only see the behind-the-scenes action of this scene, makaingon jud mo, “Di man diay lalim.” 😅 Transforming the NUSTAR ballroom with an abundant canopy made of thousands of baby’s-breath was not an easy feat. It took three days to complete the transformation, which wouldn’t have been possible if not for the help and support of our client. Congratulations Allysa Shyn and Sandy!!!

Melanie and Cris Wedding I styled a super cool wedding a few weeks ago. The reception was at Shangri-la’s helipad adorned with simple and modern elements like gypso and other white flowers. The bride wanted to keep the outdoor vibe of the venue so I didn’t turn it into a ballroom. The couple was cool and chill, not bothering with a program and instead had Urbandub play.
