You know how some people see traveling in terms of „money (nicely) spent” while others see it as investing in the experiences & incredible memories that will stay with them forever?  Or like food (so b
The latter approach is what my couples and I have in common, but of course it doesn’t end just there.

There’s a big difference between a cost and an investment. I feel very lucky to be working with amazing people who understand that this distinction has less to do with the budget, and has all to do with the mindset, and seeing value in the hundreds of hours put into make their wedding a success.

What you might not know about me is that…
before I got into destination wedding planning I worked in commercial interior design - furnishing hotels, restaurants, bars and cafés all around Europe.

This is where my love for architecture and design first manifested (and in my Architectural Digest & Elle Decor subscriptions 🤍)

My interior design background is what fuels the creative side of my work (wedding design), and what allows me to cater to those couples who can’t find themselves in traditional wedding aesthetic, and instead are looking for more design-led and space-conscious approach.

If you’re looking for a planner who will gush over the latest project of your favorite architect with you, and appreciate your vintage Hans Wegner chairs you miraculously found on a flea market during your last trip to Tel Aviv or Athens - I might be the wedding planner you’re looking for.

— Are you a perfectionist?

I know I am, which is why, I understand the desire to have your wedding be nothing short of extraordinary and the pressure that comes with it. The more you immerse yourself in the research & the process of planning itself, the more you realize how many balls are there to juggle.

FROM DECIDING ON THE COLOR SCHEME, OUTLINING AND APPROVING FLOOR PLANS, SOURCING DECOR ITEMS & CHOOSING FLOWERS, MANAGING RSVPS, AND KEEPING TRACK OF THE DIETARY NEEDS OF YOUR GUESTS, TO LOGISTICS AND UPDATING ALL YOUR VENDORS ON THE TIMELINE THEY NEED TO ADHERE TO.

Doing all that on top of your full-time jobs, and trying to live your lives and enjoy the engagement in the meantime can be a challenge. Add to that planning from afar, in a foreign country, often having to rely on google translate when reviewing contracts - it can get overwhelming, to say the least.

How would I describe my style?

What sparked the idea for All Things Beautiful was passion for celebrating paired with love for architecture, luxury travel and design.

I BELIEVE THE SPACES WE ARE IN, AS WELL AS THE OBJECTS WE ARE SURROUNDED BY, HAVE THE POWER TO AFFECT HOW WE FEEL AND EXPERIENCE THINGS.

To me, beauty is found in the simplicity and harmony of the elements put together in an intentional and, at times, unexpected way.

— WEDDING CAKE
An unnecessary item on the menu or a sweet pièce de résistance of a wedding event?

As a person who'll take savory over sweet any day and rarely orders dessert after dinner, I was never the one to think much of wedding cakes. All I wanted to do after the dinner portion of the night was to continue sipping on champagne and dance. That is until I learned cakes can be true works of art like this stunning piece Migalha Doce ] created for us.

SO… TO CAKE OR NOT TO CAKE?
HERE’S WHAT YOU SHOULD KEEP IN MIND WHEN MAKING YOUR DECISION.

1. cake has a purpose — not only it is a finishing touch and the final note of the reception dinner, it also is often considered the last formal element of the event after which it is acceptable for the guests to leave (think: the elderly, parents of small kids, etc).

2. it can be a design statement - much like pictured above, your wedding cake can play to the theme of your wedding day vision. If you want it to be, it can be a fun moment and a fabulous picture opportunity.

3. you do you - meaning if having a cake and the whole "cutting of the cake" moment doesn't feel like you - don't do it. You can just as easily add something sweet that's not a wedding cake or fresh fruit to the menu. You and your guests don't fancy sweets at all? Consider finishing the dinner in french fashion with some gourmet cheeses and dessert wine!

STYLING YOUR CELEBRATION: How do we develop the final look?

As a designer, I believe in creating a bespoke, unique & cohesive concept for the celebration as a whole. It's about having a vision that covers everything: from space planning, light, florals and decor items, down to the smallest personal details.

WHERE DO WE START?
First I want to hear from YOU. Working with me, chances are we share the same aesthetic, but the trick to making your celebration feel authentic to you is to dive deep into the vision that you have for your big day.
From your Pinterest board and the saved section on Instagram, to the notes taken on the margins of your travel journal.
Based on that I'll develop the mood board and style guide for your celebration - the general direction.

WHEN'S THE FINAL LOOK DEVELOPED?
Based on the developed concept I'll advise you on the best team to breathe life into it. It is then when I begin leading what I call:

THE INSPIRED COLLABORATION.
How does it work, you ask? My role as a curator of the celebration is to provide and navigate the space for all wedding pros & creatives involved, to do what they do best, while I bring all of the elements together. Together with the florist, light artist, photographer, stationery designer and other creatives, I develop the look-book for your celebration - a guide to translating your vision into the language of creative event design. This is where you'll see the vision with clear examples and solutions.

Why is the inspired collaboration step so important?
Because it allows us to avoid styling mess - flowers not matching the table decor, ceremony lighting giving photographers nothing to work with or reception menus clashing with flatware and the rest of the styling.

To me, curating an event is very much like conducting the orchestra - all sections working together following the lead of the conductor who interprets the piece and sets the tone for all artists involved.

— THE TRUTH BEHIND YOUR WEDDING PHOTOS

There is no doubt that choosing a photographer (next to your venue and, of course, the planner) is one of the most critical decisions you’ll have to make when planning your wedding. After all, the wedding lasts one day, but the memories and photos are forever.

It takes a village to create a stunning look, that then can be captured in a beautiful way, unique to the photographer you choose.
So let’s talk about what goes into your wedding photos, and what role does your planner play in all of this.

If you know me a little, you know that one of my biggest passions is classical music, so please forgive musical metaphors to follow!

If your wedding vendors & creatives are the orchestra, the photographer would be the lead violinist (the concertmaster if you will), who - among other things - is responsible for tuning the orchestra to ensure the piece is captured perfectly.

So what’s a planner’s role in taking of the photos?
A Planner is to your wedding photos what a conductor is to the orchestra.

Much like a conductor, a planner sets the tone for the whole event, leads all the musicians (wedding vendors and creatives), and works closely with the concertmaster (the photographer) guiding them through the piece (the wedding).

Just like the conductor creates their own interpretation of the musical piece, the planner creates the grander vision (the look of your event) and puts all the elements together, allowing all sections of the orchestra to shine in their parts.

What you see in the 1st photo is me, arranging the stationery for the photographer to capture. What you see in the 2nd photo is the final result - a stunning shot in your wedding gallery.

Remember, behind every beautiful photo a talented wedding photographer takes, stands a team that helped make it happen: a planner that found the venue and styled it beautifully & arranged all the details and the vendors who each brought their unique talents.

SO EXCITED FOR SPRING 2023 AND PLANNING D&C’s WEDDING AT THIS STUNNING PLACE 🤍

Oh what a weekend this has been!
I have met with one of my couples to scout venues for their destination wedding in Lisbon.

What was on my agenda? Venue visits & catch ups with local vendors and creatives, and all in the span of 1,5 day.

The best reward for putting in long hours, traveling & working on a weekend, crazy early morning flights and countless emails exchanged with the shortlisted venues?

Witnessing the moment D&C say „Magdalena, we’ve made a decision, it’s going to be this venue!“ And just seeing how excited they are, even more so now that they can picture it in the stunning space their destination wedding is to happen.

As cheesy as it sounds, it’s those moments when I catch myself smiling and thinking to myself „damn, I really love this job!“
