About DJ Jams
Jams started deejaying as a teenager in the mid 90s on her friend’s Technic 1200s, back when being a deejay meant committing to the time, energy and cost of crate digging, lugging crates to gigs, and learning the craft of turntablism. In the late 90s, Jams took a break to raise her daughter, but made an official comeback to the mixer in 2007 when she started The Vibe Collective radio show. Jams was co-host and deejay on The Vibe Collective radio show for just over ten years, specializing in 90s and futurist hip hop and house, electric powwow, and soul vibes.
Jams has played in and around Tkaronto, including the ROM Friday Night Live Mic Drop, AGO First Thursdays, Bricks and Glitter and Pride, as well as many grassroots fundraisers and community events, and loves nothing more than to play for a dark room with a great sound system and people to move.
