THE ART OF VINYL awaits, and Best-Kept-Records is here to ensure you're always in the groove!!! 🔥

Best-Kept-Records has been in existence for about 8 years and is the result of an unwavering love for music that originated with hardcore. As a 13-year-old hardcore enthusiast, he frequented Mid-Town and RIGE in Spijkenisse. He still spins Hardcore records and you can always find these at his store.

Check out his store in Rotterdam. Open on weekends from 11 am to 5 pm, unless otherwise indicated on Facebook and Instagram.

🚨ARRIVING @ THE GRAND SHOWDOWN:

With a growing fascination for electronic music, GSE stumbled upon his first CD, a trance compilation, purchased from a humble gas station.
Everything changed when his younger brother, attending a different high school, introduced him to the world of Hardcore/Gabber through a Masters of Hardcore CD (Chapter XI). From the moment GSE experienced the overwhelming bass drums and relentless snares of the first track, "Bass-D & King Matthew, Dj Outblast - Partyfreakz," he knew he had found his true calling.

At the age of 18, GSE dived headfirst into the Hardcore scene, attending his first event, MOH 2004 in Thialf Heerenveen. While Millennium anthems dominated the airwaves, he found his excitement in the pulsating realm of Early Hardcore.
Immersed in the sounds of iconic artists like Neophyte, Dj Weirdo, Dj Delirium, and 3 Steps Ahead, GSE's passion intensified. 🔥

On March 9, 2012, while residing in Groningen, an Early Hardcore event called "Only Early" materialized in the city. It was there, that he witnessed the talents of Gabber Syndrome and Putty.
From that pivotal moment, GSE dove deeper into the scene of Early Hardcore and the captivating allure of vinyl. Taking a leap of faith, he got himself a pair of turntables and a stockpile of vinyl. Aged 30, he said to himself the profound words, "If not now, then when?"

For GSE, Gabber is more than just music—it's a vibrant tapestry that brings together souls with an unrelenting passion for (Oldschool Gabber) beats. It's those indescribable moments, shared with fellow Gabbers, when the bass drops, faces contort, and grins stretch from ear to ear. It's the unity, the goosebumps, and the sheer ecstasy that define the Gabber spirit.

🚨SET TO CONQUER THE STAGE!

- RAVE-M

He was captivated by music from a young age. Growing up with two older brothers, Rave-M witnessed their enthusiasm for house music in the early 90s, which quickly transitioned into the emerging genre of Gabber through the "Turn Up the Bass" CDs. Rave-M naturally found everything they did amazing and eagerly seized every opportunity to blast the early ‘Thunderdome’ and ‘Rave the City’ CDs on his brother's stereo.

In 1994, his brothers purchased the "Rave Parade" compilation, which he absolutely adored. Alongside tracks like Bass-X's "Mo********er," it featured tunes such as RMB's "Redemption." Ultimately, these two styles, old-school Gabber and Hard Trance, remained his lifelong passion. For Rave-M, Gabber is the soundtrack of his life.

Around 1994, gabber gained immense popularity, and Rave-M and his friends fully immersed themselves in it as teenagers. In 1998, he finally reached the age to attend parties himself, and he did so passionately until not too long ago. While he doesn't go out as frequently in recent years, his love for gabber hasn't diminished.

Since 2004, he has been collecting vinyl records and even started DJing, which brings him daily joy. It's always a challenge for him not to spend too much money on records!! 😎

With a passion that ignited at the age of 10 when his older brother introduced him to the sounds of Hardcore, Sonar MC's journey has been nothing short of remarkable.
At the age of 18, he attended Thunderdome with his friends, and from that moment on, he knew he wanted to be a part of this world.

Sonar MC believes that gabber is a family bound by passion, whether it's old school or new school. When you stand at the forefront with your gabbers and witness the raw emotions on each other's faces, that's when the true essence of gabber comes alive.
Our MC believes that everyone they meet in the scene has something to offer, whether it's a valuable lesson or a spark of creativity.

* How did you guys come into contact with Gabber?

We were always playing house/techno at an extremely high tempo with the bass turned all the way up, and at some point, that was no longer nessecary because hardcore was being released on vinyl.

* What is your vision of Gabber?

Hardcore/gabber should be dark and obscure, accompanied by a distorted kick.

* Who was/is your inspiration to start DJing/producing?

We didn't really have role models when we started, but later we discovered that Holographic, Lenny Dee, and Lasse Steen were pioneers whose music we played a lot.

We wanted to throw parties, play music on large sound systems, produce music, and perform live. We did that, first at our own parties, and later we were booked as Dorpzicht all over the country and beyond.

* What are the coolest parties where you guys have ever performed?

The performances that left the biggest impression include Ghostown 1997 at Vechtsebanen, Shadowlands Rave 1998 in Germany, the parties at Peppermill, but the smaller parties in the basements of Utrecht and illegal squat parties were also amazing experiences.

It all started in the 90s when he was in school, surrounded by classmates who frequently visited Midtown Records to collect flyers. At the age of 14, he joined them for his first-ever event, "Heroes of Hardcore 1996" at the renowned Vechtsebanen venue. That experience left an incredible mark on him, and he was instantly hooked.

Inspired by the overwhelming feeling he witnessed, Sketler began his journey as a DJ. Seeing thousands of people react passionately to the music, he knew he wanted to be a part of that electrifying connection. It was an exhilarating feeling that ignited his passion and drove him to pursue his dreams.

Throughout his career, Sketler has had the privilege of performing at some incredible parties. From the legendary MYSTERYLAND '99 indoor mainstage to the vibrant Dutch-Rave parties in Utrecht, each event has been a remarkable experience. Additionally, he rocked a massive factory warehouse in 🇵🇱 Poland Szczecin, an unforgettable underground party with an immensely enthusiastic crowd.

Nowadays, Sketler operates a YouTube channel where he consistently shares Early Hardcore mixes, collaborating with various DJs. Additionally, he has launched an exciting series called ‘RaveClassics’, dedicated to interviewing renowned producers from the 90s, uncovering insights into music production during that period. He has a second episode coming up so keep an eye on his channel! 🫵

It all began in the 90's, at the age of 16 when a stroke of luck led Noizer to the General Noise Studio. Amidst the studio's vibrant atmosphere, he stumbled upon two magnificent SL1200 turntables.
Fuelled by his passion for music, Noizer took a bold step and fearlessly asked if he could give them a spin. Little did he know, this spontaneous moment would shape his destiny.

The journey continued to unfold as Noizer's talents grew. Around the age of 17 or 18, he ventured into the realm of music production. Renting the studio alongside the talented Dutchman Jack, they embarked on a creative endeavor. Guided by the watchful eye and unwavering support of Marc (Tails) Oudijn and Henri Lookers, the visionary minds behind General Noise, the first track was brought to life.
From that moment on, history was made.

In the period following, he released a lot of records among other well-known names like: General Noise, DJ Tails & Noizer on esteemed labels like; Waxweazle, ID&T, Arcade, Forze and Terrortraxx Records.

From THUNDERDOME, MYSTERYLAND, EARTHQUAKE, MEGARAVE & NIGHTMARE, Noizer has left his mark not only in Holland but also in Spain, Scotland, Germany, Belgium, and beyond.

🚨 DJ SIMON 🇮🇹 IS BACK AND BETTER THAN EVER!

From a young age, DJ Simon has been immersed in the Hardcore world, and after organizing his first private parties in the late 90s, he quickly established a unique style that would come to define his legendary "Area Indoor" movement.

Although he took a break from the Gabber music scene in 2006, he returned with a vengeance in 2012 with a brand-new project that was dedicated to the veterans of this genre.

"100% Area Indoor" was born and quickly became a massive success, bringing back the old-school Hardcore sound and reigniting the passion of fans everywhere.

Since then, DJ Simon has become a reference for true Early Rave sound and the legendary "Sala 2" of the historic "NUMBER ONE DISCO '' in Brescia. 🇮🇹

His great success earned him the position of Resident DJ from 2013 to 2017, during which he performed at some of the biggest hardcore parties nationwide alongside the best international DJs.

Not only has DJ Simon's music left a lasting impact on the Italian hardcore scene, but his parties have also helped to revive the Oldschool, Early Rave, and Industrial genres, inspiring other crews to start new "old style" projects.

Although he had to step away from the hardcore scene in 2017 due to other personal commitments, his legacy still lives on.

Today, DJ Simon is a reference for true fans of the Early Rave sound and a legend in the Italian Hardcore scene!!! 👊

HR MIXTAPE VOL.4 - LSA (Vinyl set)

Ruffneck, Laurent Ho, Loftgroover, and E-de-cologne are some of the influences that inspire him in the Gabber scene.

Through his sets, he creatively expresses his unique musical vision of Gabber, often experimenting with a blend of "standard" Gabber and other styles, as well as obscure tracks, to create a one-of-a-kind and unexpected performance.

DJ LSA, originally from the Netherlands ‘Dedemsvaart’, is also known as Lethargic Sucker Audio. A self-referential nickname, as he often nods off at parties. His love for Gabber is something very personal, and it feels almost like an innate instinct to him.

LSA began producing music in 2013 at the age of 14, self taught in FL Studio. He later started to DJ at local parties and youth centers using a laptop mixer before transitioning to CDJs and, later on, turntables.

Despite having faced challenges, LSA has continued to produce and DJ Gabber music, and the past few years have been musically successful for him with support from friends within the scene.

He is excited to share his passion for Gabber with the world so get ready for a mind-blowing experience with the newest HR Mixtape from our talented artist!

Dj Hixxy (Ian Hicks) & Lady Trixxy (Jim Sullivan) produced many happy and UK hardcore tracks together and separately under many labels. Hixxy was producing on a label he co-founded in 2001, called ‘Raver Baby’, making a big mark in the UK hardcore and happy hardcore scene. Trixxy mostly produced under labels like Blatant Beats, Bonkers records, CC records and Krafty records.

HOLY RAVERS MIXTAPE VOL.3 - GREENSEQUENCE (vinyl set)

In his eyes, Gabber is the Punk movement of the electronic music scene.
The freedom of being yourself as long as there is always respect to the people next to you.

Raised with the pearls of 60s & 70s ‘Rock N' Roll’ Greensequence was given at 11 years old a hard drive full of music from his cousin, where he first came into contact with Hardcore.
He quickly became obsessed with this sound and started digging between all the subgenres, where the industrial and early hardcore mainly got his attention.

Right after finishing school he started studying audio engineering and music production to broaden his field on a musical level.
Back then in class he used the Arturia Sequencer and the first pattern he recorded came up in the midi channel as ‘GREENSEQUENCE’.
At that time he was already spinning at parties and wanted to step up his game by starting to produce his own tracks.
He mainly got influenced by the 90s oldschool sound of Gabber, where ‘3 Steps Ahead’ is still to this day his biggest inspiration.
Feeling like his work transcends music like a story.

Today he owns and works at a recording studio in Spain.
Released tracks on Mokum, Rave Instinct, No New Style & many more.
From vinyl spinning to producing, this artist from Barcelona knows how to pour his musical creativity into any form.

Bad Vibes Records is a dutch happy hardcore/gabber label and record shop, run by DJ Weirdo. Both shop and label do not longer exist as of approx. 1997.

This is the last release from this label which never made it to be an full artwork release. ID&T abandoned most of it's hardcore labels because of a downfall in hardcore poplulairity in the Netherlands at that time. Some releases were planned and released as a whitelabel promotion copy or not released at all. The tracks were compiled on several CD's with different titles as shown.

HOLY RAVERS MIXTAPE VOL. 2 - DJ RAF

We asked the Italian gourmet DJ RAF to spin some oldskool Gabber for us in complete freedom.
Raf has a heart for vinyl and likes to experiment with different sounds. He is unlimited in his way of mixing and has developed his own authentic style over the years.

Born in the 80’s and raised in the 90s, Raf grew a passion for music at an early age. Through the live radio shows of ‘the Number One Disco’, a club in Italy, he came in contact with the first sounds of Hardcore music.
Raf found his inspiration and bought his first record through one of his best mates Sinuhe, who sadly passed away. Eventually he started spinning himself in 99’ and to this day he still keeps his passion alive.

From happy to industrial, Raf’s view of Gabber is very broad and doesn’t stick to one specific sub-genre. In his collection you’ll find a lot of variety.
