Happy Monday & happy December ya’ll! 🌲❤️
I’m sharing a few favorite photos from my husband and I’s little Christmas tree, photo shoot that we got to do recently. He’s not featured on the biz feed much but he has played a massive role in the success of Em Eliz Events. He deserves a spot on the feed.😉😍

Wedding weekends may have slowed down a bit over here but I’ve jumped right into planning for some of my awesome 2025/2026 clients. I’m also working on a few new things for the new year that I cant wait to share.

In the meantime, I’ll be sharing some of our favorite moments from 2024 over the next few weeks + reflecting on the best year in business we’ve had YET! It was truly the best year.

A recent ceremony moment captured so beautifully. 🥹
In true VA weather fashion, there was no rain in the forecast leading up to this outdoor ceremony. The clouds around us were looking a littttttllleeee dark but still, no sign of rain on any radar we pulled up. It was all around us though! We continued to check the radar up until a few minutes before the ceremony was about to begin. Based on how things still looked, we decided to move forward with everything as planned.

The ceremony started, everyone made it down the aisle and then we began to feel a few drops of rain. 🫠 A few members of our team gathered a couple of umbrellas in case the rain got any heavier. We were chatting with each other over our walkies about what we would do, if it began to pour down rain.

We agreed on the best course of action…..have everyone gather under the portico overhang. The ceremony would still continue but we would move to a standing ceremony.

Sure enough, we got about halfway through the ceremony and the heavy droplets started to fall. Right away, I (Emily) got in the aisle and calmly asked everyone to gather under the portico overhang. It took about 2 minutes for everyone to gather around. Almost 200 guests and everyone fit perfectly.

The ceremony continued. The only “big part” left to do in the ceremony? The symbolic foot washing. Guests were gathered around the Bride & Groom. And even though this was not planned, it was the most beautiful moment.

I choose to believe this wasn’t just happenstance. It was intentional. These moments are our why!

A Jesus lovin’ blondie from Richmond, VA who loves all things weddings! Emily has been in the wedding & event industry for over 10 years. After deciding to go full time with Em Eliz Events in 2021, Emily has had the honor of helping 60 couples with planning and coordinating their special day.

In 2022, she married her post-college church crush, Nate, and together they planned their RVA wedding. Beyond wedding planning, you can find her strolling with her golden doodle puppy, Winston, chasing beautiful sunsets, savoring Mexican cuisine at a favorite local spot and creating cherished memories with loved ones.
