Our Princess Laura

It’s 16 years today (Where does time go) You would have been 40 ..

You earned your wings tonight and flew away

No time for goodbyes your journey began

You’re an Angel of Courage in the Heaven’s above

Your memory lives on in our hearts every day

Your presence is felt in all that’s around,

From everything that sparkles to all that is pink.

We look to the sky with its pink fluffy clouds

And know you’re around painting heaven all pink.

The feathers we find on the ground at our feet (and we have found many)

Are sent from you with love from above

Your fight may be over

But your spirit lives on

💔Incredibly sad news to hear that Leeds Rhinos star Rob Burrows has sadly passed away following his 5 year battle with Motor Neurone Disease. 💔

He was an inspiration to so many & will be missed massively.

There's a robin on my fence today,
A feather by my feet
A heart-shaped leaf that blows along
Beside me down the street

This morning in the car
And just last night I could've sworn
I saw a shooting star

The sun and rain are dancing
Making rainbows in the sky
And on the slightest breeze I watch
A butterfly go by

The signs I know they are
That it is just coincidence

A little windy weather

But there is nothing little
About the way they make me feel
The sense of peace they carry

17 years ago today our Princess Laura was diagnosed with lung cancer . That was the day our lives changed for ever her fight started, she was inspired to raise awareness for Lung cancer & to not be a statistic . She was the most courageous & determined young woman & we cherish all our memories of her forever x+ x+ x our fight still continuous.

The Colours of Grief

How hard it is to fathom,
The sadness in the soul,
How that pain and heartache,
Leave us feeling less than whole,
If grief it were a colour,
It would like it to be known,
That there are so many facets,
Each emotion is a colour on its own.
Black would hold the terror,
Gold the love so true,
Red the fiery anger,
Missing you is blue.
Yellow when a memory,
Flies in to make you smile,
Green is for the calmness,
We feel once in a while,
Violet soothes the torment,
Orange the occasional laugh,
We allow ourselves so rarely,
Grief is not an easy path.
Then pink it draws you to us,
Your colour it is so,
Many colours to remind us,
The pain of letting go.
Then purple is the colour,
Of healing I’ve been told before,
So purple wrap around us,
Our hearts are truly sore.
So many colours we’ve discovered,
Make up the grievers soul,
So many emotions to encounter,
In an attempt to make us whole.
