I read this somewhere today — “authenticity is greatness”. And it’s true. Showing up for those you care about, elevating those you want to see shine, and bringing your true self to the day. Being honest with yourself and who you are.
If you swipe, two things you’re going to see — the past two years I’ve been “wiped” from having chronic ‘active’ EBV. This journey has put me on many medications and vitamins, fluxed my weight like crazy, and makes it hard to do some of the simpler things like blow drying my hair. Knowing my limits.
If I’m showing up to a ‘creative’ session — this is me. Headband or baseball cap. Looking not like a “dime piece”. No selfies around the studio, lol. Hardly ever wanting BTS photos of myself captured by others. But, getting the job done.
Also see, trying to make sure the client or the creatives needs are met in their vision. Here — we had a last minute cancel of a florist with a creative branding client. But their shoot was happening regardless. So, here I foraged, created a greenery install, and did the best I could with what I’ve seen in my decade of planning and designing… umbrella base, chicken wire, some foam blocks — and lots of foraged greenery, lol. I was proud to say I created this install. The wicker stool — well that was to shift it around the studio, because it was heavy AF.
But, Nikki Shaw Photography — thank you for grabbing these shots in my “natural habitat”. I see this, and it felt authentic to me. Also — thank goodness my face isn’t in these pics. No makeup can feel scary, lol
McKenzie, Mia Rose Bridal Boutique — now, you look like a “dime piece” in these captures! 🤍
