One of my favorite people in pop culture is Quincy Jones. He was inspirational to me because he would accomplish the absolute most, then reinvent himself and accomplish even more. From music to magazines, to TV he didn’t seem to allow anyone to put him in a box. There’s been a lot of talk about the ageism’s in entertainment namely hiphop. The culture would have you believe that after 30 you’re washed! But Quincy Jones after having huge success in his early years produced Michael Jackson’s Thriller at age 50! Years later he introduced Vibe magazine and “The Fresh Prince of Bell Air”. So that tells me I’m just getting started. I was honored to meet Mr. Jones on a couple occasions, once at a YouTube party in NYC the first was at Hot 97 where I learned he was a lover of languages and knew quite a few. In fact ther was an intern from somewhere in or near Turkey. Once she identified where to him, Q started speaking to her in her native tongue! She was amazed. reminded me of my grandfather, Roy (who we lit back in 2012)… Super cool & suave like the men of their era. Rest in peace to them both. My condolences and prayers to the Jones family.

I vividly remember this picture. At home in Bed Stuy, Brooklyn (Pulaski St. & Lewis Ave) and I was play with my baby brother I may have body slammed him on the couch or maybe I dropped him on the couch… either way he laughed and I stood on the on the couch over him with my moms 110 camera (super throwback camera) and I captured this moment. It was a good day. So on this good day Monday 8/19/2024 please help me wish my baby brother Kevin a happy and healthy birthday!

There’s so much I want to say, here’s some… I appreciate that Sheri loved on me and my little tribe with all her heart. She was selfless, kind, creative, intentional, intelligent (I loved our conversations) socially conscious and genuine to all she encountered. Sheri loved her family and told us how she felt about us out loud an often. She loved me like a son and I absolutely love her. I’m glad I got to say it to her one last time.…my bonus mom S.I.P.
