I finished the 2023 Numaga Powwow video last year, but when I turned over the materials I forgot to save a copy to share. With more projects and work to fulfill, redoing this edit fell to the wayside. But, after a long process of rebuilding an edit from a skeleton copy, along with color corrections, precision cutting, and audio sweetening, I was able to replicate a version very similar to the original. Hope you all enjoy it. And I hope to see more people attend this upcoming 2024 Numaga Indian Days Powwow, taking place over labor day weekend. I'll be there once again capturing the event, but with updated gear.

This past 2023 year provided some amazing opportunities to work with a number of people, brands and companies. While working as a freelancer doesn't always provide chances to post projects, as I'm usually hired to just capture footage, it is always great to run across things I've taken part. Huge thanks to Pete Menchetti at Slovenly Recordings for giving me the chance to film last years Debauch-A-Reno. It was a great experience, and I enjoyed interviewing so many passionate people at the festival, as well as capturing the different live performances.

Hello Everyone,

The following video was one my favorite projects. It was an honor to be provided the opportunity to film the annual Numaga Powwow in Hungry Valley, NV. The footage was captured over the three day event.

Working multiple cameras at once is always a challenge, but allows for greater coverage. There were so many moments I would have loved to include in the edit, but cutting is part of the process. The final edit included some of my favorite shots.

The following video was a collaboration between my coworkers and I when I was still working for the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe's Natural Resource Department. The Wildlife Program had been monitoring relocated Big Horn Sheep, and I thought it would be awesome to do a video showcasing the program's work. My UNR professor really liked the video, and suggested I should try and make a longer documentary in the future (who knows).

Anyway, I shot everything with my same Canon 80D, and new prime lens, and I saved up enough money to get my first drone (which I crashed during filming).

"Civility" was a video I created in the Advanced Videography course at UNR. It might have been a tab ambitious, but everyone involved worked extremely hard to see it finished. Now, everyone has their "favorite creation", and this one happens to be mine. My favorite memory, during pre-production my nephew and I made and tested a makeshift blood squib.

My final project for Videography 151 was a creative piece that was supposed to encompass everything I had learned over the semester (the montage, mini-doc, and basic cinematography). So, I decided to do a homage to one of my favorite television shows, Ghost Adventures.

Spirit Quests, was a collaborative project that took 3 days and 4 nights to film, and it took me three weeks to edit (the original run time was over 15 mins, and I had to cut that down to fit the assignment rubric). Either way, we all had a blast during filming, and I wouldn't mind getting the group back together for a second episode.

Good Evening Everyone,

So, the second assignment I had to complete was a video about "artistry". Film a short documentary about an artist and how they produce their work. Now, I'd like to state, getting people to sit in front of the camera is difficult, a lot of people are camera shy (me included). But thankfully, Teia Lopez-Gartiez was fearless, and came through in a big way. I was, and still am, very grateful she agreed to this mini-doc.

Hello again, so the following video is the first creative piece I ever completed. It was shot at the beginning of the pandemic and almost fell through. However, with the help from some wonderful friends, and help from the local community everything worked out. The video was shot with my first Canon 80D and with a kit lens. At the time, I was not sure how to capture audio cleanly and added in recoreded sound effects wherever. Also, when I submitted the video to my professor, I forgot to lower the song volume so the audio clipped like you wouldn't believe (hopefully, I was able to fix that this time around). In the end, we learn, grow, and get better with time.

Happy New Year everyone, as we enter into this new year I want to wish everyone the best, and I hope you achieve all of the goals you set going into this next chapter of your life.
