Congratulations for another National Title to LSU-Eunice Jr College.

Coach Jeff Willis(6th) & Alan Orgain(5th) earning another Title as a staff, makes you scratch your head when D1 programs are out hiring new head coaches, you may want to look into Willis' System & Orgains ability to Recruit.
The 018 Champs went 33-2 at home / 26-4 in road games, so yes their final record was 59-6, Winning the title on a Walk off in Game 2(best of 3 series) vs Parkland.

LSUe has been National Champs in 06,08,010,012,015,018.

Coach Willis Track Record after 16 full seasons at LSUE, has compiled a 779-181 record (.811 winning percentage) & his squads have never finished ranked below 7th in the country at seasons end.
168 of his players have signed into 4 year programs as well as 54 MLB Signees. This does not include this seasons roster, which will for sure increase both those numbers.

If you never been there, Its one of the nicest Jr College Facilities in the country & only a 2hr drive from SETx, 90min from SWLa. Head East on I10, when you get to Crowley before Lafayette, drive 30minutes north right into the city of Eunice.

NOT many programs have a head coach who is also the Director of Athletics, so Baseball is important to the overall scope of the program.

This years Championship Team includes Vidors Zach Hester, Sulphurs Andrew Sheridan, and Barbes Slate Fuller, who is the young man in this video who hits the walk-off homerun to win the 2018 National Title.

LSU-Eunice Jr College National Champs

/

Slate Fuller cements his place in NJCAA history! A walk-off home run to win the NJCAA DII Baseball World Series championship for LSU Eunice, its sixth in program history!

Ichiro Suzuki, The only man with his first name n the back of his uni..
Time lapse of every MLB hit in his career, its amazing how by year 2006 appears as many dots in the infield as thre are in outfield, lol, notice where all his homeruns land, almost in the same seating section....
What a Man who did what he did and stayed consistent with that approach an entire career...

Here is a time lapse of every hit throughout Ichiro’s career. This is beautiful ⚾️😍

Winningest baseball coach in Mississippi high school history retires, leaves a legacy

One of The Best High School Coaches during my time in the entire Southern part of the country. Coach B was a Visionary, a Leader of young men, a tireless worker who improved high school baseball across the entire state, and with 14 State Championships, and a semi-final series loss last week, his time has come, retiring over in Mississippi...

Got to Appreciate Coach Boatners old school approach -

His guys finished up 25-5, losing two one-run games May 3-4 in the Class 4A semifinal round against Vancleave.
Quote -
“I’m gonna miss the game, no doubt about that,” he says. “I’m going to miss the competition, the 'Team' aspect of it.
"That’s why I liked coaching high school teams".
“People said I should get a Travel team up during the Summers, but I never wanted to do that. Kids on travel teams play as individuals".
"They don’t bunt, don’t hustle".
"I want that thrill of victory and agony of defeat thing going with a group working for the same goal.”

Alex Bregman, baseball's best sixth-best player

Coming from the Best of the Best 2,370th baseball instructor-mentor in the country, here is an article on the Best 6th best player in baseball, or whatever it is they are trying to say here...
I kind of take it he is the Best player between players 150-180 in all of MLB?
Someone might can explain this VERY Optimistic article on a guy with a 717ops / K's 17perc of the time / Undersized 3rd baseman, yet he is a World Champ and THATS what its all about at the end of the day... A Winner!
Stack him in with other 3rd basemans in baseball?
Lets see
1 - Machado (Orioles)
2 - Arenado (Rockies0
3 - Beltre (Rangers)
4 - Bryant (Cubs)
5 - Ramirez(Cleveland)
Then sprinkle in Chapman(A's) / Vellanueva(Padres)
Donaldson(Jays) / Longoria(Giants) / Moustakis(KC) /
Rendon(Nats)

On most teams, the Astros infielder would be the main attraction. But have you seen Houston's roster? Here's why the 24-year-old is worth your full attention.

Utility role suits Guillotte well | New Hampshire

Not a selfish bone in this young mans body...
Andrew "Drew" / "Spanky" / "Winner" Guiillotte

Goal Driven, Team Driven, Character Driven....

BlueJays Scout CJ Ebarb getting the Jays to take a chance on a mid-major, undersized Louisiana kid, who just wants to compete, play the game the right way, and be a leader of men, was enough for CJ and the Jays to pop this kid in the 32nd round...And Andrew hasn't let them down, not one day, one game, nor one inning...
He played 7 positions while at McNeese, & 6 positions with the Bluejays affiliates, at 5ft8 170lbs, but plays the game big.

'The Kid' (Despite needing a Razor or Shears) is the poster child teammate on the field & in the locker room, & I've said this many times observing this guy, he just has "The Knack" to impact a game, not just with the bat, but with his feet, or glove, his game awareness, or simply supporting a teammate, it really doesn't matter.
And now 'Drew' has Vlads boy, Craigs Boy, & Dante's boy, as teammates, how cool is that? (Guerrero, Biggio, Bichete)
I read a text from him a couple of 3 weeks back, simply stating quote "Guerrero is the Real Deal Coach'... So as usual, I pull up that nights box score, and Vlads boy simply went off like a video game hitter, homers RBIs and runs scored, pretty cool Andrew was giving 'fist bump knucks' to this guy after each successful at bat.

Andrew is a guy who is always going to contribute regardless of how bright or dim that light may be shining on him individually....
He is who he is and the players & coaches embrace it....
Enjoy the write-up, Well deserved, well written piece....

to high school in Dallas, Texas. One class period - on an ordinary Monday night - became a defining moment for me. The teacher went around the room and asked students to share their dreams and the people who had been influential in their lives... It was finally my turn... and I knew my answer would probably get some critique. I told everyone in that class that the people of influence in my life were professional athletes. Then I confidently declared that my dream was to play baseball professionally. There were a few chuckles from some friends in the back of the room who all knew where this was going. But I stood my ground, knowing somewhere in my heart that it was a dream worth stating, chasing and even defending. The teacher was gracious in his response, but he got right to the point. He explained to me that goals were certainly important, but that we should always consider the odds. He reminded me of the statistics. With a hint of sarcasm, I told the teacher that he had crushed my dream. He could tell that his speech about the odds had left me dejected, so he quickly shifted gears and tried to encourage me. “I do want you to understand the odds, Clayton. They are one in a million. But the important thing is that you see yourself as the one. Don’t think about the million. Visualize yourself being the one who makes it. You are the one. Be the one." I could have written it off as a lame attempt to salvage my dream, but something actually clicked inside me at that moment. My teacher’s comments inspired my focus on the dream. He hit the nail on the head. Be the one. I started to visualize myself as the one who would make it. Through a teacher in an elective leadership class, the Lord lit a fire underneath me that propelled me towards becoming more of the man He intended me to be. Under Armour

Welp,
That 'MoneyBall' Movie with Brad Pitt, hit it on the head with the internal side of MLB displaying how the old school Baseball 'Lifers' and Scouts are being pushed out while the High GPA Computer Ivy League Wiz-Kid Grads are jumping on board with numbers...
Well they back at it again looking to 'Dumb it Down' even more...
How can such highly educated men, come up with such less than ideal topics for an Aggressively Hidden, yet Gentlemans' Game...
It used to require ''Baseball Players", but now its leaning more and more towards find us the Showcase Athlete, then we'll need to dumb it down some and boom we got it covered.

if You don't like aggressiveness in the game, then play tennis, golf, or basketball, because basketball def has lost 90percent of its physical aspect as well...
Always wondered how LeBron would've handled Lambier or 'The Worm' Rodman, Mahorn, even Reggie Miller and Isiah Thomas weren't going to just step aside and let one score....
American Sports should just get back to Grown Men with Passion COMPETING with everything they have for a Win...

So Hand Shakes and High Fives for Arenado & Chad Austin today, as well as Joe Kelly and Perdomo, 2 pitchers sticking up for their own guys for being plunked...

But back to MLB Rule adjustments & changes,
If you didn't play The Game, then stay out of the 'Rules Room' that changes 'The Game' for how 10,000plus men in 100 plus years played it & how they developed it, evolved it, and how they thought it should be played...
Kind of makes one Wonder if Mantle would've even drank a sip in todays game, dealing with the soreness and aches and such he went through shortening his career.

Anyways,
If you didn't know, and don't throw-up in your own mouth,
Here is whats actually on the table for discussion by the Commissioner and the MLB Brass BELOW -
^Pitch timer*
^Limitation on pickoffs
^Starting extra innings with a runner on base*
^Mercy rule
^Raise strike zone to top of knee
^Require relievers to face a minimum number of batters
^Limit number of relievers on a roster
^Limit defensive shifts
^Allow managers to reset the batting order in the 9th inning
===================================
WHO Comes up with this stuff above?
Just move the mounds back 1 foot so hitters can leg lift like the Vegas Dance Line, drop their hands below the waist and go straight upper cut Cage Hacking... And before the ink dries, Teams must Bring in L-Screens if down by 8 or more, And then even out the counts, as in 4 balls for a walk and 4 strikes for an out and if Hit By Pitch, you stay in the box while the Manager gets to pick a guy out of the 'Joey Belle' Penalty Box, picking your fav USA Track athlete to go run the bases limiting pickoffs to one per batter...And if tied after 54outs? Turn out all the stadium lights, Just Spotlights shining down on both fungo circles, Play some Kid Rock Music, and finish the game with the best 2 out of 3 Paper Rock Scissors Game, but then again that would probably cause an outside the stadium protest as a topic, debating is it Paper Rock Scissors or Rock Paper Scissors?

Lets be real for a sec tho,
How about the REASON The Game used to have TOUGHNESS within it, because it Police'd Itself as well, for it balanced out the playing field, for that slide at 2nd base or the collision at home WAS the difference in the Games final score at times....
Like we used to say, if you don't like contact, Play the Outfield.
Its becoming Flag Football with Gloves and Stirrups and majority of the changes are obviously financially motivated, yet being done for the Non-Loyal Baseball guy who isn't even married into The Game.
Heck the reason MLB guys can now ''Cage Bomb Approach' Hitting if they want, for any pitcher throwing inside, even when they miss the hitter, tends to get tossed out regularly. Old days, you hit a guy, your middle infielders disliked you, for they knew what was about to happen, Some Jackie Chan creative sliding was about to occur on a purposely hit Gball when down by 5 or 6 runs late in a game....

Anyways,
2 bench clearings today, the normal occurrence when mid April through early May arrives....
'The Game' is settling in, the Trigger Tempers from The Grind are raging, & the Alpha's are starting to claim their territory....

#22 for the San Francisco Giants just proves again why he is still one of the best in the game, at any moment, in any game..
14inning game, He gets 6 hits, the final hit, a 3run walk-off HR.
Font, you cannot beat 'Cutch' on an inner half fastball, regardless if its 95mph, that cat can throw a barrel head...

On the flip side, the Padres Franchise proves once again -
' Winners Win and Losers Lose '
2 outs 10th inning 0-0 score,
Astros Bregman works the barrel under a 92mph elevated fastball, contact straight up the elevator shaft high pop up, 15 feet first base side, front of home plate, fair ball with a hang time of 6.06 seconds...
Finds Grass, zero leather, 3 defensive players stand in disbelief.
2 things here of importance -
1- Defensive 'Triangle Communication'
2 - Quality Base'Running
Defensive Players are taught to Communicate Verbally with a certain level of loudness on a playing field, which did not occur on this routine pop up, Instantly the pitcher-catcher BOTH pointed once it was hit, both pointing at Hosmer its his ball...
Well a guy running full speed staring in the air cannot see teammates point, but he can sure HEAR 2 men yelling, neither of which occurred. You can see Hosmer on a late break, ran in from deep infield being 2 outs, righty at bat, runner on second, he is playing with depth at first base... So he basically had to run 100 feet in for a fly ball that was 15-18 feet in front of his catcher. Catcher #17 AJ Ellis HAS to attempt to catch that ball period......
And the importance of base'running,
The Runner was at second, 2 outs, and was not loafing, rather EXPECTING the ball to be misplayed to win the game, so he runs full speed and impacts the game not on talent, solely on wisdom, belief, & hustle, scoring the only run of the game.
Walk-off Winner.
Its a System, an Environment, A Collective Belief & Expectation.

#27 is a scary dude.
A Naturally TALENTED hitter, who since he struck out 184 times 4 seasons ago, he has made it a point each season to lower that overall strikeout number, and he has succeeded every year personally declining the total number of K's per season.

And no,
I'm not talking about World Champ #27 Jose Altuve nor New Yankee #27 GioCarlos Stanton.

This guy is a step better than both. And what is scary, is this Spring Training in 15games, he has yet to strikeout, the only regular over 35 plus at bats to do this, #27 Mike Trout in 15games has yet to K, Not even once.

Your talking about a guy that hits 360 with BABIP, Meaning Balls he makes contact with and go into play, his average is 360. Nobody in baseball is even close to that... Mike Trout only struck out 90 times last season, but he was injured so he played in only 114 games, yet still hit 306 and had a 443 on base percentage and a 1.071 OPS in 2017, 187points above the League Average. Just 4 seasons ago he struck out 26% of the time during the season, last year, it was 17%, and the first time he had more walks than strikeouts, 94BB to 90K's.

Its his 7th season, 5 of which he ended 1st or 2nd in the AL MVP Voting, and his career on-base percentage is 410, only 2nd behind Joey Votto's 428.. He is in the top 10percent of fastest average time out the box to first base, he is in the top 10percent in stolen bases, he is in the top 10percent batting average,top10 homeruns, top10 basehits, top10 slugging percentage, and top10 on-base percentage..... and the guy can flat out play defense, career fielding is 986, which is roughly 1 error per 100 chances.

The MLB Season begins in less than 2 weeks and the Yankees and Astros will def be the favorites as the season progresses, but individually I'm curious how Trout continues to lower the strikeouts and how it enhances his batting average. At 6ft 3in 235lb, years 8-12 start to force guys to make subtle changes and tweeks within their overall game, but Trout has that Mantle appeal about him, so he may just continue bashing the ball with success all over the park for quiet a long time. Another reason for him to absorb continued success, for as I talk about to clients, players when we are training, and that is, How productive a hitter is when he 'mis-hits' balls into play, and last season, Trouts lowest 16 exit velo's off the bat resulted in an 8fer16, .500 average....
#27 is top of the food chain in The Game today.
cf

Couldn't say this any clearer,
Nice Commentary 'Rebels Nation'...

Forward -
Developing pitchers and teaching them about pitching deep into games.
Pitching deep into games a few things has to right.
Your looking for early contact, limited walks, 1st pitch Strikes, ground balls (Working low in the zone), getting the lead off batter, working fast and I can go on.
In High School the goal is to start the game and finish the game. Anywhere from 85-100.
Pitching once a week will build arm Strength and is better than pitching twice on a weekend.
Couple things happen in this process.
You learn to work when your tired and you learn to finish. Too many times you have a pitcher pitching 2 great innings and the next guy is in.
All High School starters are expected to pitch 7 innings unless the flow of the game says otherwise. It’s important that young pitchers learn how the work between outings.
YOU LEARN HOW TO PITCH BY PITCHING DEEP INTO GAMES. 5+ Inning.
