So we are once again on the ballot for best wedding officiant… even though we stopped performing weddings (except for the one time wizard for ) but regardless we want to thank you nominating us year after year. It makes us realize that you do remember and appreciate all the incredible ceremonies we had the pleasure and privilege of performing and the numerous times we’ve won. Thank you for the bottom of my heart for letting us share in your day.
We hope, once retired, that the site has continued to help countless couples and officiants obtain the information they need to get married and have their perfect day. Thank you all again.

Hello there friends,

Coming up on August 26th will be hosting an incredible day support for Paws Of War.

Paws of war trains and places shelter dogs to serve and provide independence to our U.S. military veterans that suffer from the emotional effects of war.

The SINGLE most IMPORTANT thing that any couple needs for their wedding (besides well you know…their partner) is A WEDDING PLANNER!

No I don’t mean Jennifer Lopez, or one of the many incredibly talented planners out there (tag yourself below) but a simple three ring binder with folders.

Why? It’s all about efficiency and keeping organized and this fancy little trapper keeper is going to be your best friend.

First you want it AS SOON as you start looking for vendors. As you meet and greet through showcases and venues keep similar vendors in separate folders . The DJ section, the photographer section, the videographer section, limo, so on and so on.

Now that you have the hundreds of fliers and cards it’s time to scrub the folder. Toss the people you weren’t interested in and keep the rest. And when you finally book THROW everything else out!

Now you have a binder with JUST your vendors. You have their contracts, their info, the timeline for payments… next is….

THE CHECKLIST: On the first page you want a running checklist of all the duties you need to do and when. When is the final payment for this vendor? When do you need to decide menus, music, or decor? Keep everything updated on that front page and always update the vendor folder you have with a big DONE across it once everything is set.

You’ll never have to panic about “where did I put their info? Did I get their email?” Keep everything in this massive tome and it will make your wedding a breeze! And when you get to the final day, you can check it one last time to ensure all your balances are met and you’ve got your tips already enveloped and ready!

One Day Marriage Officiant License:

So you want to marry someone and don’t know what to do. Well NY made it pretty simple but we are here to help:

-You MUST apply for the one-day license with the same City/Town/County Clerks Office where the couple obtained their wedding license.

-You can only apply AFTER the couple obtains their wedding license.

-The clerks office will notify you when processed if accepted or not.

The rest of the required information is found on the license itself as well as corresponding clerk websites. But the above are important as it could affect the ceremony itself and leave the couple without someone if processing is delayed or rejected.

All officially recognized (clergy, state/county/town officials etc) do not have to go through this process. This is just for those folks that want to do this for a friend or family member.

We are proud to have helped support and push this legislation along over the years so that everyone has a chance to have the ceremony they always wanted with the people that truly care and love them.

If you weren’t aware New York State passed a bill that allows anyone in NY to perform a wedding ceremony (for a $25 fee) as a one-day officiant (https://www.nysenate.gov/legislation/bills/2021/s739/amendment/a)

Beginning on March 28, 2023, any person eighteen years old and over can solemnize a Marriage Ceremony in New York State after obtaining a One-Day Marriage Officiant License from the Office of the City Clerk. A One-Day Marriage Officiant does not have to be a resident of the City of New York or New York State.

Sometimes venues are booked but the couple isn’t really thrilled with how it looks, but there are multiple options available to change it up:

-Pipe and Drape
-Kinetic Uplighting
-Table arrangement
-Flowers and favors

Work with your venue to see what additional options are available and are willing to do. Think of the venue as empty space like and what you’re seeing is the staged version of a home showing. Just because it looks like that doesn’t mean it needs to stay that way.

Pipe and drape can create new dimensions of the space and can cover unwanted areas or create separate spaces for a “chill zone” with lounge furniture.

Kinetic lighting can give life to the dancefloor with its bold rhythm to the music or mellow things out with a soft wash or candle effect.

If its your dream wedding don’t settle for less than your dreams.
