Dear Professional Wrestlers,

Hi! It's me. I'll be doing commentary on your match.

Also - And this may sting a LITTLE bit:

I have no idea who you are.

So please, up and coming wrestlers, have a nice bio or "one sheet" (One easy to access page that lists important facts about your character) that is posted to the top of your social media pages and website. Signature moves and names, other fun facts and oh - If you are involved in a story or angle that I could reference!

You don't have a website? Why? When I started you could get a nice free site on geocities or angelfire or whatever. Do they not do that anymore? I JUST wrote about this in my Livejournal!

Seriously though - My job as a commentator is to accentuate your strengths and highlight your career. In short; I'm there to put you over. If I don't know anything about you... Well that makes it tough, eh?

Look all I'm saying is if you can't get Joe Dombrowski or even if I can maybe carry his bags and do color commentary - I...

Look all I'm saying is if you can't get Joe Dombrowski or even if I can maybe carry his bags and do color commentary - I like to work! I have a sweet in-home studio and Diamond Medallion status for travel - And a passport waiting for me to go back to Japan!

Got inspired by good brother Wilbur Whitlock and wanted to give some "Last of the Old School" advise for young wrestlers:

"he's a good hand" - Best compliment I ever got paid.

I don't think it's a matter of young guys "coming for our spots" - I just never subscribed to that line of thinking. Back when I started in 1998 there were still some old school Brothers who had that territory mentality, but it's just not like that anymore (Thankfully) - I see more guys trying to help each other out now than ever, which is GREAT for the overall business. More than ever, when one guy gets "signed" the first thing they are doing is saying, "Hey, I know a couple of guys on the indies that would CRUSH it here, too" and that's good for EVERYONE.

For the old guys? Teach the kids that just because you CAN do a Canadian Destroyer on the apron doesn't mean you SHOULD do a Canadian Destroyer on the apron. The in-ring stuff is reaching a bit of a breaking point. One of the biggest lessons I feel newer wrestlers need to understand is that wrestling is.... wait for it... a work. That means... it's not supposed to ACTUALLY kill you. So if you need to get powerbombed through a flaming table to get the crowd to give a s**t about your match - Maybe work on your psychology and character a bit more?

More than anything, I see a lot of young guys that are without any sense of direction and without mentorship and it sucks. Just like any sport, 99% of the indy guys aren't going to make it to the Fed, but that doesn't mean we can't do better to provide the tools needed for that 1% to make it to the next level.

Even in the worst locker room full of mostly "untrained" goofs - There can be the next big star. It's happened before. It will happen again. It's professional wrestling. It fu***ng rules.

Looking for venues around Western PA!

From Spiffy Sean Styles

I can't believe on my 25th anniversary in the professional wrestling business I finally understand something that absolutely KILLS small indy promotions.

Guys. Boys. I mean this - stop cutting promos on other promotions. You aren't Stone Cold and you ain't in ECW. Stop it.

Who are you doing that for? Certainly not the FANS, since there is precisely ZERO crossover fans between an indy in Pittsburgh and a group that runs 2 hours away. None.

So that means you are doing it for who? The boys? Why? Does that get you over? Does that make them want to work with you? The promoter? I know when *I* book talent you know one of the first things I notice? The type of wrestler who spends their time talking s**t about other workers or other promotions. Do I want that guy in MY locker room?

Does it elevate the place you work? Not even a bit. If anything, it puts you on the same level as the "s**tty" promotion you are talking down to. So... now you either elevated them to your level, or you lowered your locker room to theirs. Nice going, goof.

You know how for DECADES the WWF and NWA/WCW rarely if EVER mentioned the "competition?" You wonder why? Of course not - that's why you Wrestle in front of 40 people and in 2 or 3 places.

If my role after 25 years is trying to explain the BUSINESS to people who quite frankly should fu***ng know better, so be it. I firmly believe that wrestlers being trained NEED to learn media training, promos, character, and HOW TO CONDUCT BUSINESS. It is even more important than learning the moves.

Damn kids.
