Mornings on the farm.
I've been helping with the redding up this week while my brothers away and thought I'd share a little snippet as these kinds of mornings are what Forage&Faff are all about. To everyone who's ever come to one of my workshops, bought flowers, told someone about my business or just liked a photo on insta, THANK YOU. You've made my dream of having a job that works around family and the farm a reality and this week of randomly being able to chip in and help at home is because of all your support.
Much love.
Also, can we all tell dad he should get a diet feeder. #somanybuckets
Meet the Forage&Faff team: Mum
The OG hostess who cooks for 50, like it's just a Monday night dinner. Mum taught us how to cook good, seasonal, uncomplicated food and instilled a love for sharing it all at a big kitchen table. Her enthusiasm for doing the dishes is yet to be inherited right enough.
Affectionately known as 'Hoose Rice', because even when we get a takeout, she has to cook something to add to it.
Forever saving my bacon on events days and keeping us all well fed and happy. Thanks for everything Mum.

Gorgeous tulips featured are @smithandmunson and gosh, they're incredible. If you buy anything this weekend, let it be local grown tulips like these.
This is your sign to finally get that ✨️girls night✨️ out of the group chat.
Last few tickets still available - go grab them from my link in bio before they're gone. It's gona be a good night to be a girl!

Meet the Forage&Faff team - PETER
Seldom enthused by my grand ideas but always there to encourage and support me anyway...until he's asked to 'come on and help with a wee thing here a minute'.
Never one for doing something the conventional way, or getting flustered, he's as laid back as it gets and forever imparting his "never worry" wisdom. I'd be lost without him, and his wee red van to fill with flowers every now and then!
(This was us measuring how high the polytunnel was for new plastic last year. We forgot the measuring tape.)
Meet the Forage&Faff team - Boss HOG.
(Also known as dad.)
The one who's always pulling stuff out of hedges and declaring, "Go ahead, try it" with a smile that fills you with equal parts confidence that it will taste wonderful, and dread of what stinking thing you're about to eat.
Very thankful for a dad who taught me the importance of heritage, home and how to Forage...out on the hill or through his sheds for things to hijack for the polytunnel and pottingshed. If there's something needing built from nothing at the last minute, he's the man.
The main inspiration behind Forage&Faff ✨️
Meet the Forage&Faff team - NED
Thought I'd run a series to introduce you to everyone behind the scenes at Forage&Faff HQ. First up, chief car park attendant and general welcome party, our old kelpie dog Ned. He's a very old doggo, but still likes to chase cars and act the lad now and again.
He looks a bit bedraggled and smells a bit sometimes but give him a scratch behind the ear and he'll potter happily back to wherever he was sleeping before you arrived on the farm!
How to get yourself some ✨️ FREE PLANTS ✨️ and ditch the plastic pots for next summer.
I've been using the cutest (BEST EVER) little pots for propagating this year and I can't recommend them enough. They're from a British brand called @woolpots.uk and such a clever, but simple idea. Tbh, they're a total no brainer. A perfect swap for plastic pots and trays, they work as a natural slug deterrent, decompose when you plant them in the ground and act as a fertiliser, AND they stretch out to hold plenty of compost for your cuttings. Win. Win Win.
Can you tell I'm a fan? (This is not an ad but the guys @woolpots.uk very kindly sent me a bundle and I've been trying them out the last few seasons.)
When all the plants outside are covered in snow and you finally remember to water the inside ones. 💁🏼♀️🌿💧
Sedum are one of my favourite plants for winter colour, plus they work fab in a wreath or Posy for sparkle season with their deep burgundy red tones.
If you've got some in the garden, go snip a few stems, pop them in a jar of water, and keep them on a windowsill for a few months. They'll be bursting with roots, ready for planting up, and you don't have to do a thing! All the beauty of a cottage garden with zero hassle.
Have you ever tried it? If you've any questions, pop them below, and I'll tell you all I know!
Can we all just let Mariah and Bublé hang tight for another week before they start defrosting? I kinda hate how things can't 'just be' for a minute.
So if you're a big old scrouge like me, remember it's still ok to be enjoying the autumnal out there, the trees will be golden for a week yet, and then they'll be bare for long enough. Sod the nonsense the highstreets are singing at us for a minute and just be. Just breathe.
No offence Bublé, I'm just not ready for ya!
You know you've got a toddler when a Friday night working sounds much better than the bedtime battle. Such a fun night at the @sosoycandles mini market and so lovely to be trading (and shopping) with other small businesses I love and admire!
Thanks so much to @sosoycandles for having me and my big flower basket along, and to everyone who came and said hi, bought flowers and chatted, it was so lovely to see you!
Now to catch up on 3 weeks of washing piles. (I'd much rather be sorting the flower baskets.) 🧺🧺🧺
