There's always a glass of foraged fizz poured when you visit Forage&Faff HQ, and it's so simple to make. Here's how 👇

- Pick a handful of fresh mint leaves and give them a wash. I tend to break them up roughly in my hands to get lots of the minty goodness into the syrup.
- Add equal parts cold water, sugar and mint leaves to a saucepan
- Bring to the boil and then let it simmer for 10minutes.
- Once cooled, add a generous glug to your drink of choice and enjoy.

It's a perfect match for lemonade, with lots of ice. Also your hands will smell amazing the rest of the day.

A winter wedding amid one of last years storms when the brief was wild and moody. Apparently, the weather got the same memo for today. 💨

It was such a joy to dress the church and with flowers, Forage&Faff style. Just wishing I had a candle set up like this on my dining table today, if the electric goes out you know what I'll be up to!

The Cub turns TWO today. It's been a weekend of cake, cuddles and cute bunting. (It's also been a weekend of the flu and redding up paperwork, reality is all about the balance eh!)

Such a joy to be able to grow this business around my family and especially this year, so thank you guys for being here, supporting Forage&Faff and my dream to be a gentle(wo)man farmer with a basket of flowers always in hand. The Cub is also suitably obsessed with watering cans and sheep. Have a slice of cake on us tonight and celebrate a misty grey Monday. ✨️🥂🍰🥳🍄

A slow slow week in the midwinter snow.

I had great plans to kick this past week off with a bang and hit January running, but another weak of slowly getting into the swing of things has been just the job. And sure, all the paperwork and life admin and endless other to do lists can wait til next week.

I'll catch you all up next week on the craic with Forage&Faff 2025. I'm excited for it!

Howdo 👋

Kicking the new year off with a very warm welcome to you all, and a very big thanks for sticking around while I was busy off faffing about with wreaths and Christmas events the last few months. Excited to be starting 2025 with some time off my 'real job' and lots of time to crack on with lovely Forage&Faff events and styling.

A li'l round up of random things about me/Forage&Faff...

I'm a farmers daughter and TV producer with a love of all things seasonal and foraged style.

I started to restore an abandoned polytunnel on my uncles farm 3 Christmas' ago, and now it's full of flowers and foliage...and still plenty of weeds.

I've always loved faffing about with flowers and now run floristry workshops and events on the family beef and sheep farm.

I married a bearded edjit who makes me laugh a lot and we've got a little terror of a toddler who's inherited our shared love for the outdoors and chocolate.

My favourite place to hang out is in a hedgerow or at the potting table and always with a basket in hand.

I had a few hours in the polytunnel last week, and it left me all excited for next year's flowers and foliage. I even got ahead (probably a stretch of the imagination) with some Sedum cuttings. They're becoming a strong contender for my favourite plant in the tunnel, they're so hardy and I love that they come into thier own in autumn when lots of other flowers are past their best. Oh, and they love to have their heads chopped off, ready to grow into free plants for next year!

I'll show you later in the week how I get lots of free plants from my sedums. It's so quick and easy and completely foolproof.

I'll also show you these dinky little planters I've been using from .uk (pr), they're absolutely mighty!

✨️🌲Wreath Workshop Update 🌲✨️

Folks, I'm very sorry to announce that I'll not be running any wreath workshops on the farm this winter. I've tried to find a space in the diary to fit one in, but it's just not going to happen.

I've a few lovely events coming up across the next few weeks, which are going to take up a huge amount of prep time and leave me with no where to host as the pottingshed will be full to the brim with lots of lovely flowery bits. Gutted I can't invite you all round for a hot tottie and merriment, but no doubt I'll be more organised next year and we'll be back with a bang!

Thank you for all the messages and enquiries into workshops, it never ceases to make me do a little dance inside when people get in touch to ask about hosting workshops.

Right, I'm away to think nothing more of December now for another few weeks. 🤪😅👋

How do!

A little post with a big basket of blooms from last weekends wedding. Bridal bouquets and buttonholes...but this is the only photo I took 🙈🤦

I'm not a wedding florist, but every now and again, I do a few bits for a neighbour or someone looking something a little different.

These flowers where for a lovely bride I met at a pop up market earlier in the year and who tied the knot in the BEAUTIFUL just down the glen from Forage&Faffs HQ.

And what a joy to pull together a wild bouquet with locally sourced flowers...

Sweetpea and cosmos from
Eucalyptus from (the best greenery by far)
All the peachy perfection from .blooms

Side note --> My granda always greeted folk by saying "How do". I miss that sound.

I've been getting quite a few dms before workshops asking if it's ok/possible to bring little babies and if it's a breastfeeding friendly space...the short answer, of course!

Gals, you could literally whip a b**b right out and I wouldn't even bat an eyelid. The cubs first word was b**b and she's still very much obsessed. (If anyone's got any good tips on how to wean a toddler please let me know).
I always find it a bit odd that the most basic thing in the world, just feeding a child can cause such a curfuffle. As you can see from my camera roll over the last 18 months, I'm not to fussed about where I feed...or how! So, bring the babas, the sterilisers, the pacifiers, all the acutruments, they're a little extension of you for a short, special time and they're so welcome to Forage&Faff.

If you want to give me a heads up before your workshop I can have a highchair or buggy here for you, to save you packing one more thing. Those early months are tough, and if it's the only way you can get a few hours out of the house with your friends, just bring the wee one!

Now mamas, it's almost the weekend, so T**s Up!

Summer pickings in the polytunnel. 🍉🍓🍄🍅

Slow days spent eating strawberries for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It might not look or feel like summer in NI, but it tastes like it 🤌

Anyone got any strawberry makes/bakes/recipes I could try? (Besides jam and jelly) give me all the inspo please!

Things are a bit quiet on here with Forage&Faff at the moment as I'm busy filming a new series of 'Oul Treasures' for (Telly is the day job when I'm not picking strawberries or making posies).

We'll be filming right across summer and with a few private events already in the diary, the next two months are pretty packed...so with that in mind I'm sorry to announce I'll not be releasing any summer workshop tickets this year. BUT, I have serious plans for next summer and it's taking every bit of self control and sensible scheduling I've got in me not to release them this year. So you can rest assured it'll be worth the wait.

Hopefully we'll get something squeezed in for Autumn when filming finishes up! In the meantime my Dms are always open for events/collabs/private bookings if you're looking something floral faffery related!

Thanks for understanding, and for making me so busy this year.

A few moments from last weekend in the wonderful

What a joy to bring flowers from lots of local, sustainable growers together, to create your dream dried posies. It was truly wonderful to meet you all on the day and have a chat. Thank you for all your lovely comments, for stopping to have a look/whiff of everything and sending me home with a lot less flowers to unpack at the end of the day. It's appreciated more than you know. 🌸🌼🧡✨️
