Today I had the opportunity to test my culinary skills. Anyone who knows me well, knows that I don't consider myself to be a cook and definitely not a chef. I do know my way around the kitchen and like to experiment with things from time to time. That's what I did to create the recipes that I had on my food truck/catering business and now with my sauces. Today, I participated in a head-to-head competition sposored by Sutter Homes Winery with one of my co-workers, a cook. I created a Korean Bulgolgi Burger recipe that is a fusion between the All-American cheese burger and Korean-style BBQ. I incorporated untraditional ingredients within my burger. Items like rice and carrots. Instead of lettuce, roasted seaweed. A Sutter Homes wine had to be used within the burger. Everyone, including the judges, enjoyed it. Sorry, no pics of the burger. At a later date, I will post the pictures of a completed burger along with the recipe.
