Thank you so much to The New York Times and Alix Strauss for sharing my Modern Rebel story, and why, almost 9 years in, I still get giddy when I meet a new couple (and why I love your mom but I won’t plan your wedding with her).
This entrepreneurial journey has been a wild one. It's had its fair share of ups and downs, but I am incredibly grateful to still be here, planning Love Parties, sharing space with the most talented team of people, vendors and creative couples imaginable. To have my story shared in such a massive way, which is really a story I share with so many who have been instrumental in my journey, is mega. This is absolutely a pinch me moment.
When I started in Modern Rebel in 2015, I certainly dreamed of this moment - you kind of have to. But even as I see it in front of my face, it doesn’t feel real. To see Love Parties in the bright NYTimes lights, for weddings that reflect real relationships to be in big media + not shoved to the side as some kind of niche, it all gives me hope for the future - one where weddings truly feel like kick-off parties and we, as a culture, invest in finding the fun in our relationships in MANY ways after them, too.
Weddings are not the most important day of your life. It’s one of many, with so much yet to come. It’s not an ending, it's a beginning. Let’s dream this future together - and then do it. 💕 Xo Amy
