Update: Babble vs Duolingo

Have had Babble (paid acct) for a couple of weeks now & my (free) Duolingo longest streak as of today 912 - although quite a few ‘streak freezes’ the last couple months. Still doing both. LOVE the cross training of both platforms.

Initial impression of Babble (B), didn’t like the evaluation portion. Love how in-depth Duolingo (D) is at assessing how much you already know. However, I have found B pleasantly challenging, for example learning the past tense of the things I have learned from D.

I miss the conjugation charts that they used to show all the time in D & I haven’t seen them in B.

B has a ton of options I haven’t tried yet. Their review portions are awesome- part of what I was missing with free D. Never had paid D. Did do the D free trials of Super D though & always loved the mistake practice- I have this with my B - (is a paid acct), very helpful.

Miss the streak calendar on D. 🤣 Having 912 days makes me feel like I am going forward toward a long term life goal albeit at a snails pace.

B keeps track differently though in addition to a little solid red fire 🔥 symbol with a # next to it at the top right of the screen- it keeps track of your weekly goal. So right now my day streak there is 1, but have already hit 4/7 weekly goals. This may work better for my lifestyle- but we will see if it can be as motivating. B also has a ton of ways that you can do review; flash cards, writing, listening, speaking, games (new and just 1). Has me at level “newcomer A1.1” even though I am approaching 3 years steady with D this spring, but I am challenged.

Still wondering which learning methods are more effective - specifically for my brain. 😂 Honestly- I love doing both. So many fun things in D I did with Super D, and B is a paid account, but it is less than Super D and B is the top rated language app from what I have read.

Anyone else have an opinion? I have barely begun to explore all that either of these apps have to offer….

Why Pucker Up Impressions?

"You Kiss, We Tell!" Dallas’s Original Kiss Reading Service!

This service was Created by Mystic Kathryn in 2006, after 6 years of event experience. “I designed this service to fill a hole in the event market for FUN, Quick, Upbeat readings. These readings are ideally suited to Wedding Events and Anniversary Parties as well as beauty events and corporate events too.”

How it Works - We give each participant a sample lipstick (theirs to keep) have them apply and then we ask them to kiss the card as though they love it. From this, we discern a ton of details about their personalities, idiosyncrasies and more fun stuff. Couples are encouraged to go together and to hold the kiss cards between them as they create their print. Have your camera ready because that’s a Great Photo Opportunity!
