The Little Angel Gowns charity creates burial gowns for babies sewn with love from old wedding dresses. These burial gowns are donated to individuals, hospitals and funeral homes all across the country. It is our mission to provide this small act of comfort for families across the country.

Just delivered 50 centerpieces to the TBI Foundation dinner. Guess how many pictures I took? Zero! 50 centerpieces in three days was a lot!

When you run down to your local florist shop in a panic at almost 4:00 on a Friday afternoon because you just found out TODAY that you have to deliver 50 centerpieces on Tuesday afternoon for a charity dinner! Thank you, Mr. Jimmy!

What happens when you acquire a piece of property with a 1960’s style house on a dead end street with a pretty pond surrounded by dogwoods? You gut it and turn it into an event venue! My first visit to Dogwood Pond to figure out my layout for a Decades themed 60th birthday party in June and I was pretty pleased. Not overly large, but with a cute covered patio, great bar, fireplace and huge kitchen and they’re currently working on a separate house that will be a bride’s room and recreation area with pool tables.

Let’s talk about BUDGETS! I get approached many times about doing events and am asked to come up with a quote based on our discussion of what the client wants and some inspiration pictures they found online.
Here’s the thing. When I ask what their budget is for this event, they generally have NO IDEA. This is not to undermine anyone or their budget, because I’ve certainly worked with all sizes of budgets, but you MUST have at least a ballpark idea of what you want to spend. When you approach me, I have no way of knowing if you are living paycheck to paycheck (in which case you probably should be DIYing the event yourself) or you have tons of discretionary income and the skies the limit. It’s kind of a carnations to peonies question. For my florist friends, you know what I’m saying here! Before you contact an event designer, please have an idea of what the absolute max you want to spend will be. It will prevent potential embarrassment for you and make my job so much easier!
(P.S. not my picture, this is in Santorini and an example of pictures I get sent and asked if I can do it on a $1000 flower budget!)

Definitely on the mend and I have been enjoying this time at home and stepping away from actually physically doing events for a little while to give my body a rest. But… that doesn’t mean I haven’t been taking calls, emails, and working from home.
I drove myself kind of crazy the last two years, booking every moment, so 2024 will be my “take it easy” year! I MAY only be booking one event a month. I say “may” because if there is a big enough gap between dates or it’s something really appealing to me, I may consider it! Just not booking back to back this year.
My first 2024 event is in March.
My other available months are as follows:
April
May
July may be booked, a tentative date right now
August
November
If you want to book a date for any of those months, please contact me NOW, rather than later. NO last minutes this year!!!

Just wanted to take a moment in case I forget to post, to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a happy holiday season and new year! I’ll be undergoing hip surgery tomorrow and this is something I’ve been struggling with for the past two years, but the past few months the pain has become almost unbearable. I definitely don’t feel I’ve been able to perform up to my abilities this year and for that, I am truly sorry, but 12-14 hour days on your feet definitely wear on a person!
I’m hoping this surgery tomorrow will put me back to my best and help me find joy in event planning once again.
In the meantime, I will be taking some much needed time to recover so my first event will be March 2024. I feel this is best to give my body a chance to truly recover to its fullest.
I’ll still be posting and available by email, phone and text, so don’t forget about me! Happy holidays! 🎄🎅🏻🎊
