I am proud to announce Darkqwolf has been named Drummer Magazine's new Editor in Chief, effective 01 August 2023.

Darkqwolf is a producer & host of LF&K (Leather/Fe**sh/Kink) social and community-focused events in NYC — Jockstrap Happy Hour/Rough S*x NY/K!NK (Eagle NYC); FUNDIES! (Rockbar); SLEAZE/DARKQROOM (Redeye NY).

Born and raised in Brooklyn, he’s been an active member of the international LF&K community since first becoming involved in 2008. Darkqwolf was Mr. Eagle NYC 2016, a top finalist at International Mr. Leather (IML) later that year, then asked back to judge at IML’s 40th anniversary 2018.

Most recently he served on the board of Folsom Street East, Inc. as president and CEO from 2020-2022 after initially joining in 2017. Darkqwolf has been previously featured in Drummer both as a writer and a model. He now brings his editorial experience as a former Coordinator of Publishing Operations at Matthew Bender Publishing, a career he began as an intern after finishing undergrad.

Darkqwolf’s passion for The Scene extends through his personal life as a full-time Daddy to his boy and Alpha of his pack and to all of his work. Through his experience, his primary focus is to create and maintain spaces that keep the traditional sexuality of Fe**sh, in a way that’s accessible to all who seek it.

Due to circumstances beyond their control, all events at Redeye NY have just been postponed until their grand reopening in September. This unfortunately affects both tonight’s and the August event. Huge, huge, HUGE thanks to everyone who was able to come last night. Literally 💦. To see so many bodies of all shapes having all kinds of fun...that's what SLEAZE is about. To Red Eye NYY for creating such an amazing and unique space, DJ Steven Cunningham for always over-delivering the perfect sounds & sights, Danny J for instigating the sexy and my team who work tirelessly to keep the flow.....I'm incredibly grateful. But as always I'm the most indebted to all of my guests--I can make the space and build a room....but it's your presence and energy that makes the dream reality.

To everyone who made it out last night for the opening of SLEAZE -- Classic Tea With A Twist & SLEAZE: DARKQROOM....what we did was nothing less than special.

Red Eye NY, Ana Matronic, Steven Cunningham, Champ Phoenix, the men of BLUF NYC, my fellow Mr. Eagles and every face and body that came through to dance & cut up--we all came together to bring the kind of night and space the city has needed for a looong time. Something new, but old way--in the spirit of how things used to be....

All I ever want to is create the kind of spaces that bring joy and help everyone who comes to do the same. I'm deeply grateful to the Leather/Fe**sh/Kink community for giving me the world and I'm going to keep giving right back.

COVID-19 UPDATE 3/26/2020

Due to the recent developments in the state of the Coronavirus here in NYC, we’ve decided with a heavy heart to not have this year’s Festival weekend, but to instead postpone until 2021, June 18-20. With no way to foresee an end to the pandemic in a reasonable amount of time, nor with the guarantee the city and our community will be in a solid place logistically and emotionally, we can’t assure the kind of event we’ve come to love, look forward and most importantly- you deserve. When that end does come, we’ll all need time to come together in different ways to heal, to grieve and to move forward in a new reality. It’ll be important to have the space to do so and the promise is even without the Weekend, FSE will still be active and present as a resource and servant to the community through the year.

Here at Folsom Street East, Inc. we take safety of our community very seriously. The Board of Folsom Street East, Inc., is monitoring the situation in regard to coronavirus and large public gatherings. We will be taking our cues not only from larger LGBTQ+ Non profits, like NYC Pride, the LGBTQ Community Services Center and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, which all have large events the same weekend as ours, but will be paying very close attention to the City and State of New York as we monitor this healthcare crisis. As of now, we are on for the 23rd FSE on June 21st, 2020, but will let our audience and community know should that change. We appreciate your patience during this time, and will continue to release updates as new information comes out.

A CALL FOR PERFORMING ARTISTS!

Folsom Street East is seeking music, dance and performance art acts for this year’s S***S street festival. S.L.U.T.S. stands for S*x Love Unity Trust and Safety, and this year’s sexy theme will be announced shortly.

S.L.U.T.S. is an annual street fair for the kink, fe**sh and LGBTQ communities produced by Folsom Street East and celebrating its 23rd Festival on Sunday, June 21, 2020 in New York City!

Folsom Street East, Inc. celebrates and inspires participation and pride in fe**sh, kink, and LGBTQ communities through the creation of safe spaces for public expression of our sexual identities. Folsom Street East promotes and provides grants to other nonprofit organizations serving these communities. In 2019, we were able to make $33,500 in grants to organizations serving the LGBTQ+ and HIV communities in New York City and Philadelphia

This year, we are spreading the net far and wide in our search for new and entertaining performers for our stages. We are looking for self-contained music, dance and performance art acts that will fill the stage and help bring a celebratory air to this incredible festival. Soloists, bands, drag queens, burlesque performers, fe**sh demonstrators, etc. will all be considered.

As in 2019, we will have two stages, the Mainstage at the western end of the festival, and the Highline Stage, near its eastern end. The Highline Stage will celebrate gogo, burlesque and fe**sh demonstrations. Please note: all body shapes and sizes are welcome, our definition of “S*xy” is far broader than you might find in mainstream media.

There is a small honorarium for all performers.

To apply, please submit your name, the name of your group (if any), a brief statement of how your act/style will fit in at New York’s only kink/fe**sh/LGBTQ street fair and a link to video or recording of your work.

Submissions and questions should be made to [email protected] by February 21, 2020.
