SPEAKERS AND TICKETS ANNOUNCEMENT
Tickets will go on sale at noon tomorrow, Friday May 12th. As most years, tickets will sell out very quickly – make sure to be on standby. The sales link will be posted on this page, as well as the TEDxOxbridge website.
The full list of speakers, including noted politicians, journalists, entertainers, and business innovators, can be found below. The full bios will also be available on the website tonight.
Information regarding timings of the day, food on the day, and the after party will be communicated on here, as well as by email to successful ticket holders.

1. STEVEN WOOLFE
Elected onto UKIP’s National Executive Committee in 2011 and a member of the European Parliament since 2014, Woolfe gained widespread media coverage following his double bid to become the leader of the UKIP party in 2016. Following a series of incidents, including allegedly being injured by a fellow Member of the European Parliament, he quit the party, claiming it to be ungovernable.
2. KOHEI YAMADA
Currently the CEO of Kiseki Corporation Ltd., Yamada was named one of the 100 most respected Japanese people by Newsweek. He wrote a hit song regarding AIDS education in Malawi while stationed there for the Japan International Cooperation Agency. Noting the prevalence of the disease, the Japanese businessman wrote the lyrics to the single that ended up becoming a number one hit in Malawi.
3. ALLISON OSBORN
A psychology graduate, athlete-turned-yoga teacher Osborn decided to focus on the connection between mind and body. Following the founding of a yoga-centred fundraising organisation, Warriors for Peace, and a 3 year stint at a non-profit called the Young Entrepreneurs Academy, Osborn combined her passion with her background and started her own business: Embodied Action Coaching.
4. ABHA SINGH
A renowned lawyer, Singh famously reopened the case against noted actor Salman Khan and his hit-and-run incident 13 years after it occurred, and was largely ignored, in 2002. Herself and her husband have widely devoted themselves to social activism and the battling of corruption in India.
5. JOYEETA DAS
Current CEO of Gyana, a data visualisation start-up specialising in the simplification and effective usage of data analysis, Das is a technological entrepreneur whose past experience lies in engineering. She was recently featured in the government’s Innovate UK web blog Game Changers: Women in Innovation.
6. SAFA KARMAN
The first Yemeni woman to join Al Jazeera, Karman closely followed the series of revolutions known collectively as the Arab Spring. Moreover, she co-founded the Be A Human Initiative, an NGO in Yemen that provides psychological care and support for those affected by warzones and the effects of PTSD. As a journalist, she has produced multiple acclaimed documentaries.
7. SHEFALI ROY
Named one of the 50 most powerful women in the industry by Women in FinTech, Roy has broad experience both in technology and financial services. Having worked for Goldman Sachs, Apple, and Christie’s, Roy was the Chief Compliance Officer of payments firm Stripe for two years, and is currently a board member of women’s technology network Ada’s list.
8. ANN MASSAL
Parisian by birth, Massal frequently revisits the Sorbonne (CELSA), where she studied, to teach on her insights following an expansive career in the beauty industry. She has worked with Maybelline New York Asian Business Deployment, where she was at the head of launching the first BB cream, and The Body Shop Worldwide, where she oversaw the re-launching of the brand. Following this, the L’Oréal Paris Executive Committee created a new role for Massal as SVP for New Businesses. On top of this, Massal founded Annonym, a innovative studio merging design and branding.
9. KERRY-ANN MENDOZA
A former consultant and banker, Mendoza is currently editor-in-chief of The Canary, a strongly left-wing political blog that has been noted in other media for a number of controversial stories. Moreover, Mendoza blogs for the Scriptonite Dialy, has been involved in the Occupy movement, and has published a book called Austerity: The Demolition of the Welfare State and the Rise of the Zombie Economy.
10. DOM O'KEEFE
Having toured the United States, France and the Netherlands with the Oxford Imps, University of Oxford graduate O’Keefe is an experienced improvisation comedian. He has performed in and directed shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for the last four years, where he co-founded Shaken Not Stirred: The Improvised James Bond Film, which enjoyed two sell-out runs. Moreover, he has collaborated with theatre and comedy companies in Vienna and London.
11. BEN YOUNG
The selected student speaker from the University of Oxford, Young has worked in insurance and non-profit organisations, specialising in data analytics and visualisation. A graduate from Brigham Young University in Economics, with a minor in Business Management, both himself and his wife now study at Oxford, with Ben undertaking an MBA at the Saïd Business School. He balances playing baseball, practicing a capella, and looking after his two daughters with being a freelance Tableau consultant.
12. ARMAN MOUSSAVI
The selected student speaker from the University of Cambridge, Moussavi is an aspiring strategy consultant particularly interested in digital transformation projects. When he is not helping companies overcome challenges they face as they expand into the Middle East, he can be found on the tracks of Cambridge, competing with the university’s tennis team.
13. SANDER VAN DER LINDEN
A fellow at Churchill College, Cambridge, Van Der Linden is an assistant professor and university lecturer in Social Psychology. He won the prestigious Frank Research Prize in 2017, and has received awards from the American Psychological Association, the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues, and the International Association of Applied Psychology. His works has been published widely in popular media, included the Washington Post, Time Magazine, the Guardian, the BBC, and The New York Times.
