Thanks again to the wonderful team that contributed to and everyone that joined us for the recent AID RAVE livestream! We reached our fundraising target - £320 raised for the Rainforest Trust. This will be doubled by a generous supporter to save more precious forests around the world.

This recent pandemic stems from our human destruction of and disconnection from nature. Sadly, some have used the crisis to carry out horrific illegal logging of our precious rainforests, which will only lead to more fires and more disease. Our livestream event on www.headrooms.tv this Saturday 23 May supports the amazing work of the Rainforest Trust. Donate to be part of their SAVES Challenge, which aims to protect 50 million acres of threatened habitat by the end of 2020. All donations will be doubled by a generous friend of Rainforest Trust. AID RAVE this year is raising funds for the Rainforest Trust. Chief Conservation Officer, Angela Yang, explains how "the non-profit purchases and protects the most threatened tropical forests, saving endangered wildlife through partnerships and community engagement."

Rainforest Trust commits to saving 50 million acres of rainforest and raising $50 million by the end of 2020, which will be doubled by an anonymous donor. As the Trust's operating costs are covered by board members and select donors, 100% of all donations go to their conservation work. This beautiful piece was created for the recent Aid Rave charity night in Nottingham. Money raised on the night was donated to The Orangutan Project to help rescue, rehabilitate and release orangutans, and protect their forest homes in Indonesia. All donations made to The Orangutan Project fund a variety of projects that contribute towards a holistic approach to orangutan conservation. These projects focus on the four key principals, which are:

> Secure habitat (obtain land concessions and rights to manage land).

> Rescue, Rehabilitate and Release (all aspects of orangutan care required to keep them safe and prepare them to be released into protected areas).

"The team at the Sumatran Orangutan Conservation Programme (SOCP) Orangutan Quarantine Centre have shared some brilliant news! Six Sumatran orangutans in their care are ready to be transported to the training and release site at Jantho forest in Aceh 🙊🌳

One of these orangutans is the beautiful adult female named Asha who was admitted to the SOCP centre with horrific injuries in 2017. This is truly remarkable and shows the strength and bravery of Asha and the absolute dedication from the SOCP staff to help her have the chance to become a wild orangutan once more 🧡👏

Thanks to our amazing supporters, The Orangutan Project is sending $82,500 💵 this year to help care for orangutans at the SOCP centre.

Good luck to the SOCP team and all of the orangutans heading to Jantho! We can't wait to see you in the trees 🌳

Young Popi is learning how to live in this forest sanctuary :) Popi and many other orangutans are rescued every year by The Orangutan Project. They may have seen their mothers killed and been taken for the illegal wildlife trade, but now they're safe.
