Dancing, softly floating bouquet ribbon is always encouraged by me. I love how silk ribbon adds a more romantic feature to a bridal bouquet.

The dahlias are dug out of the farm and tucked away snuggly in the flower shed. I dig out my dahlias every autumn or early winter and replant them again in late Spring. Our soils are usually too wet from our clay component to be able to leave them in the ground throughout winter. I've tried to leave them in and lost the tubers - quite the learning experience! Dahlias require a little extra tlc, but when they are in full bloom in Summer and designed in a bridal bouquet or a reception installation, the winter work of digging them keeps me motivated.

Do your wedding your way!
Don't worry about having flowers in the bathrooms or buttonholes for every member of your extended family. My best advice is choose parts of your day that matter to you and invest with florals in these spaces.
Let your florist organise the mechanics of the arrangements so they can be repurposed and remember you don't have to know anything about flowers when enquiring. We don't expect you to, that's why we are here to help and bring your vision to life.
Sam and Chelsea, did their florals their own way. I designed Chel's bouquet, the boys buttonholes and a beautiful, abundant ceremony installation. Chels and her family and friends did the remainder of their reception florals that we supplied in buckets the day before their wedding. There's no set way of organising your florals, so couples you do you!

Bar arrangements look best when you go big and celebrate your day with beautiful, seasonal floral ingredients. I adore this Spring arrangement filled with honeysuckle, snapdragons, ranunculus, feverfew, roses, snowballs and scented geranium.

Blue hydrangea and delphinium, surrounded by clouds of dahlias, roses and scented geranium. I loved this design especially as the weather was kind to allow us to repurpose the ceremony to the reception so the couple could enjoy their blooms for longer.

Hello, I'm Ash the founder of YHFF.
YHFF is an event florist and microflower farm tendered to by myself and my husband Lachie.
I love golden hour light, reruns of m*a*s*h episodes and a delicious milky white tea.
I never expected to be a wedding florist, but now I wouldn't change a thing. YHFF offers space for a couple of weddings per month which allows us to continue to juggle farm, family and vet life; my other life passions.
My favourite wedding designs are when I am given a colour palette and I can surprise the couple with the best seasonal flowers. My designs are founded in 'slow flowers principles' which in simple terms means I use locally grown flowers first and then we only purchase Australian flowers when we need extras. You won't find imports such as dangly orchids in our designs.
My designs are inspired by the garden and nature. I love nothing more than discovering a hidden gem in a garden and it's not uncommon to find secateurs in my ute just incase I happen to see a road side bush that needs a little trim!
Our micro farm grows a mix of annuals and perennial plants. It consists of 20 beds that we nurtured with aged sheep poo and worm farm castings. We grow ranunculus, tulips, sweetpeas, daffodils, amaranthus, dahlias and roses.
As I start to plant our Spring bulbs I am reminded of how our farm started, through a shared love of daffodils and I am so grateful for the opportunities it has given us. Ash ❤️

The chrysanthemums are starting on the farm. I love this cute, little button form with its reliable flowering stems. We have three beds of chrysanthemums which will all flower 🤞🏻throughout the next month. Perfect timing for our last wedding of the season next week!

My dream is for our bride's to smell a flower variety in her bouquet and remember that beautiful, intoxicating scent as a reminder of her wedding day. My favourite varieties to include in bouquets are garden roses and sweetpeas.

This beautiful design was on my mind today while I prepared tomorrow's wedding florals. I was feeling inspired by the memories of the stunning hills and valleys of New Zealand as I designed compote vases. Very excited to create with dreamy, autumnal wedding florals tomorrow.

this floral design is amazing! So inspired by this design and as we start to plan for Spring 2024 weddings, I encourage couples to consider dreamy, clouds of florals surrounding your cake? I wonder if Lach would consider a party just for this cake!? 🤣

One of my favourite parts of designing a wedding is writing an ingredient list and organising where I will source stems from. When I am planning wedding flowers I like to think about what flowers will be in season and have fragrance? How local can I source the blooms? What will be flowering on our farm? I think about the love, energy and care that other local flower farmers put into the blooms. I then write a simple list with pen and paper and take a few days to curate the list. Then I prepare a back up plan just incase Mother Nature gives us a storm or melting heat!
A quick glance on IG can show a beautiful image yet it's often been hours of prep and knowledge to create.
This lovely install was created without floral foam with beautiful stems all grown within 50kms of . It reflects the bountiful roses that flowered during the week.

Collaboration with local flower farms is at the heart of my business. I want to design with seasonal products that celebrate a special moment in time within each season. To me, this adds magic to a wedding day.
