My "WHY" 💕

Ever since I was little, I have always been drawn to creative projects; you would always catch me doodling something on my notebook, writing little poems, or putting on a “play” for my parents to a Celine Dion album in the kitchen. And at one point, my mom had thought that I would maybe become a surgeon because she noticed I loved working with my hands (I would never had lasted in a hospital doing that career lol!!)

I stumbled upon floral design when working an in-between job at a grocery store right after graduating college. And that was when my passion for floral designing (unknowingly) started!

After my time at the grocery store, I had accepted a couple corporate jobs that used my degree in marketing - but something always felt off ever since I left my floral job. I had always wanted to start something creative from scratch on my own, but I often made excuses or believed the lies that I couldn't do it or that I wasn't capable enough.

With lots of prayer, I decided to take that first step towards something that would completely change everything. I quit my corporate job to pursue floral design. And that’s how Living Vine Floral began!

Living Vine Floral’s name is inspired from one of my favorite verses in the Bible - John 15:5. My faith in Jesus is the most important thing in my life and I am so grateful for all the Lord has provided not only in my personal life, but with my business as well! Apart from Him, we can do nothing. The name of Living Vine Floral is a reminder that everything we do in this life is to glorify Him!

I love working with brides who are passionate about what they want their wedding style to look and feel like and how it can encapsulate their personality and their love. If this sounds like you, I would love to be your teammate to bring your vision to life!

Something I wish I would have done when wedding planning 💍

Get outside of my Pinterest board bubble 💭 Let me explain...

As a bride when wedding planning, you are making SO MANY DECISIONS. A lot that you didn't even sign up for lol!

For me, I wish I would have had more of an open mind when it came to choosing our colors, dresses, and just the overall vibe of the event. I quickly began to view things with tunnel vision, and that was because I was referencing my Pinterest board all the time, probably a little too much. Although I loved what I was pinning, I rarely saw or searched for anything outside of my maroon, blush, and green color palette. And looking back, I honestly wished that I would have chosen colors that were more reflective of my personality.

In the end, I loved how everything turned out ❤ but I wish I would have gotten out of my comfort zone a little bit and explored more options to truly feel confident about my decision!

To all of the brides reading this, my advice to you!! ⬇

📚Pick up some local bridal magazines to get some inspiration

👗Look at your wardrobe and see what colors you tend to gravitate to on a daily basis - this can help narrow down a color scheme that can match your personality

🎨Buy some dress color swatches or paint swatches from a hardware store and put them on your fridge at home to see if you will grow tired or more excited from looking at them all the time!

I hope this helps get YOU out of your comfort zone and to make decisions with all the confidence you need! 😊

I will never forget the day I left my corporate 9-5 job to pursue floristry. It was exhilarating yet terrifying jumping into the unknown. I had no idea what I was doing, but I’m so grateful I took the leap to pursue what I love doing. It was only by the Lord’s provision and guidance where I find myself today, 2 years after walking out of those office doors. Listen up! Here are 5 things you need to know when selecting your wrist corsages or pin-on bouts for your wedding! 👇 1. Color Scheme: Ensure the colors of your wearable flowers harmonize with your overall wedding color scheme. They should complement rather than clash with the colors of the dress your mothers/attendants or suits people will be wearing on the big day. 2. Size and Scale: Consider body size, height, and wrist size when selecting wearable flowers. For example, if your ring bearer is 5 years old, it may be best to lean towards wearing a mini bout. 3. Durability: Ensure that the flowers chosen for your wearable arrangements can withstand being worn for an extended period. Or you can opt for silk bouts if you expect the groomsmen will be giving lots of bear hugs on the day of the wedding! 4. Allergies: If you choose fresh flowers, be mindful of any allergies you or your wedding party may have to certain flowers. Opt for hypoallergenic options if necessary! 5. Comfort: Consider how comfortable the wearable flowers will be throughout the day. Heavy or bigger arrangements may become tiring to wear, especially if they’ll be wearing them for many hours.
