Let’s talk about scale. Big rooms call for big decor. It’s 33’ from floor to catwalk at this venue, so I knew I had to think BIG for our installation. This tinsel goodness is 30’ x 30’ x 15’ - which equates to roughly four school buses side by side, then stacking four more on top of them. It can be hard to visualize installations this size, which is why we do renderings to ensure the scale is right on.

Save The Dates are truly the first glimpse into what your guests can expect if they RSVP “yes” to your wedding. Set the right vibe! Like perhaps sending a folded 12”x18” poster with neon coral text. (Bonus points for epic stamps.)

If you are having family style food at your event, make sure you leave room for the food! One tip to make your table not look empty until the food arrives - use a linen with pattern, color, and/or texture. It will take up a lot of visual space ensuring guests are appropriately wow’d when they sit down for dinner.

CEREMONY IN THE ROUND || One of my favorite ways to create an intimate ceremony is by surrounding the couple with their loved ones. Ceremony in the round also allows for a fresh take on your processional and recessional. Would you consider this non-traditional set up?

Fun fact, one of the ways I confirm things are centered, in the place they are supposed to be, the right height, etc. is by taking photos. My camera is an impartial observer able to give me accurate feedback that my eyes can’t. Taking the extra time to ensure all the details are spot on with all the tools I have literally makes my events picture perfect 📸👀

To me, great event design is about what you don’t see as much as what you do. Take for instance the humble tray jack. A food service necessity and MAJOR eye sore. So for this wedding we worked with the caterer to design custom service stations that were aesthetically pleasing and incredibly functional. We had sideboards built to match the tables from the rental company. Thus eliminating the need for tray jacks. The result was a restaurant-like fine dining experience with every detail just right. “A penny for your seat” Our interactive seating experience truly captivated guests, as two lovely ladies mingled during cocktail hour, handing out shiny new pennies. Each guest discovered a personalized envelope containing a special scratch-off card, beautifully designed by with a Ferris wheel motif—an homage to the Chicago World’s Fair that inspired the wedding’s theme. 🎡 (The Ferris wheel also foreshadowed what was to come at dinner.) By scratching off the gold dot the guest knew what table to go to. Fun and informative—and guests left one cent richer. 🤑
