Good evening family we would like to announce with great joy the return of Amandla Danca Teatro Za to offer one of their most exciting productions
Mwana Wa Mvula follows the journey of a male rainmaker, Lerumo in a tug of war of good versus good. His natural spiritual gift clashes with father’s Christian belief. Lerumo is faced with situations and circumstances that tests his innate instinct versus his societal fed metric. His answers lie in water as he struggles to find his balance in an extreme tug-of-war. He later starts to understands his power and communication with water. When he begins to be one with water, his journey and path is cleared. We eventually watch him choose his path.

Hi Family and new Members of the church.
We would like to announce with great excitement that we shall be graced by the legendary Sibusile Xaba.
With a vocal style that is part dreamscaping and part ancestral invocation ,Xaba divines as opposed to singing.Combined with a guitar style that rooted in expressive picking ,Xaba's music shatters all the confines of genre, taking only the fundamentals from mentors such as Madala Kunene and Dr Philip Tabane and imbuing these with a mythology and improvisational intensity all of his own.

We present to you the VEZELANI MEMORIAL CONCERT which will take place at The Workshop ko Kasi in Kuruman on Sunday the 16th of May 2021.
Vezelani is a name that was entrusted to us the youth by Baba Credo Mutwa after visiting him and Mama Virginia Mutwa at their home in October 2019. Vezelani is known by the Ancient Ones as the flower of truth, love, peace, harmony and trust.
It is our intention and collaborative effort as The Workshop Ko Kasi, Awakening Social Projects, Kwasukasukela Arts Collective, and ISPILI Network supported by the Credo Mutwa Foundation to present a four days event honouring the late iSanusi Credo Mutwa, who could be turning 100 years old this year.
Day 1, the first event scheduled to take place on Friday the 14th May at Sol Plaatje University Library and will focus on Sonic Transmissions and Dialogue on the impact of Credo Mutwa through ritual practices being misunderstood as a performance.
Day 2 will bring us the second event at the Northern Cape Theatre on 15 May where we bring you a full day of amazing performances and meditation on offerings to Umsamo, a divine space. Come through to learn more and experience the cast and creative curation.
Day 3 will be the memorial concert at The Workshop Ko Kasi in Kuruman on Sunday 16th May and will consist of a cave visit and a day filled with live music and art performances, exhibitions, food as well as overnight camping.
The proceeds from all the events including monetary donations, artworks, plants and other contributions such as food and time, will be donated to Mama Virginia Mutwa on Monday the 17th May to conclude the whole honourary celebrations. Bring your gardening and painting tools to assist at Mama’s garden.

Day 2
15th May at Theatre we bring you a full day of amazing performances that'll meditate on and bring offerings to Umsamo
What is you ask.
"Umsamo is a divine space in a world consumed by dark forces, curating a process of remembering to offer other ways of collective healing through: Questions & Callings, Totems & Dreams, Symbolism & Forgetting, being Lost & Found. Through ritual performance we transform the space to become a sacred place of meditation and a foundation where we transmit codes passed down from the cosmos and beyond.

Good day Family
We excited to announce our 3rd installment of our "Dedication to ancestors" series and for this latest one we have collaborated with an amazing team called Kwasukasukela Arts Collective to present UMSAMO
‘Umsamo is a divine space in a world consumed by dark forces, curating a process of remembering to offer other ways of collective healing through:
Questions & Callings, Totems & Dreams, Symbolism & Forgetting, being Lost & Found.
We are still wet behind the ears, novices searching for the good cultural doctors. But, we would rather walk forward than be engulfed by the madness!’
Umsamo is about being called by our ancestors to be instrumentalists, healers, movers and keepers of traditional knowledge. Through our journey of awakening and seeing the gaps in Southern Afrikan society, in relation to understanding the identity of its black community, we search and learn more about Afrikan music and movement aesthetics. And therefore Afrikan ways of life. We receive our guidance through dreams, impressions, sonic vibration and meditations which fortify our resolve to journey deep into the trance that is Afrikan music spirituality. As vessels, our map follows the ancient songs! The spirits of indigenous vibrations pave the road we follow.
We believe our offerings are the link between the ancient and new, it pieces together collective memory and cultural heritage – without which the soul of our community will disintegrate. Art is a metaphysical representation of culture it educates peoples into how to image what the old value systems of loving and treating people were. Therefore, it is also a light designed to illuminate us in a dark space where people often let go of their culture because of pressures of modernity. We are consciously Afrikan, we are on a journey to attain and share the knowledge from the sages and diviners.
